It was a week full of adventures!
The cold settled in and
it felt like winter!
It even tasted like winter as we tried to catch snowflakes!!!
We were all twisted up
in a crazy game of word twister.
The kids are quite the twister players!
Our week was so busy, our Friday reader came on Monday!
The kids loved her silly story!
The fun continued as we made our way over to church for a special chapel.
We had so many canned goods, we could barely carry them all.
The whole church was overflowing with generosity!
Our Student Council then led us in a chapel about being thankful even when things don't go quite right.
We began getting ready for our feast by handing out our invitations.
We invited some very special people to our feast.
We wanted to thank them for all that they do at our school
and for our church.
Next we had to make the pumpkin pies!
Each child was able to add something to our pie.
We added pumpkin
which smelled really good!
Of course we had to add some eggs.
The kids are very good at egg cracking!
Some sugar
and flour were also added.
We had to stir it all up
and add some spices too.
Then stir it some more
before pouring it into the pie shell. MMM... YUMMY!
After talking about the Wampanoag Indians, we made some headbands.
The kids did a great job of decorating them with patterns.
We also made patterns as we pretended to plant beans.
Some kids even made fancy designs.
Creating Native American houses was also a challenge for us.
They used different types of materials
to create different Native American homes.
They also tested out their skills
as they played some games
similar to what the Native Americans might have played.
The kids also challenged themselves to shell real popcorn.
They had to use their fingers to get the popcorn seeds to pop off of the cob.
They worked together to get the cobs all cleaned off.
After designing some amazing musical instruments,
we set out for our Thanksgiving Parade.
The kids did a GREAT job of playing for the preschoolers.
They also shared their music with the cooks and wished them a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We then took our parade outside.
We made our way over to the school and sang so loud the nurses and Mrs. Schmidt came to the window to cheer us on!
Finally it was time for our feast.
The kids enjoyed the YUMMY food
and even went back for 2nds and 3rds!
Some fun friends also enjoyed us for our feast.
We had a great time
and are so blessed by all the wonderful people that work at Zion.
Our day was not complete until some turkey hunters arrived!
With our special glasses on
we went looking for turkeys.
Each turkey had a special pictures on it.
They had to sneak up on the turkeys
and try to catch the ones that started with a certain letter.
It was a little tricky at times
but they got it done!
These are some expert
turkey hunters!
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever.
