WOW!
What an exciting week!
We kicked off Lutheran Schools Week with Pajama Day!
Does it get any better than that??!!!
All kinds of fun pajamas showed up!
Some with stripes
some with cupcakes...
Even some Christmas pajamas showed up!
It was hard to stay awake with our pajamas on...
So we got up and danced... IT'S PAJAMA TIME!
We also headed down to the Commons to watch some 7th graders perform some stories for us.
The first story was The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
The second story was The Snowy Day. Both groups did a GREAT job!
They even inspired some kindergartners to build their own 3 Little Pig houses!
The children also enjoyed reading in their pajamas with their stuffed animals.
And a pajama store opened up in our classroom.
The store owner gave the customer a ticket. They had to find those pajamas.
Then they had to pay for the pajamas.
Pajama Day was a great day!
Next up was FASHION DISASTER DAY!
AHHH!
It was a Tricky Tuesday for sure!
Could we really have any more crazy fun!
OF COURSE!
More wintry fun occurred as we "ice skated" our way into art.
Each child received one ice cube and a few sprinkles of paint.
Then they began to "ice skate"!
They also were busy making snow forts!
It was another fun crazy day!
ORANGE you glad it is Lutheran School's Week! WE ARE! The school wore all different colors. We buddied up with one of the 6th grade classes and wore ORANGE!
We started our day off with a special chapel led by Mr. Debrick.
Then we headed back to our classroom with our new 6th grade friends.
Each child wrote down why they liked Zion.
There were some GREAT answers!
Then we got busy making snowflakes.
When we opened them up...
some beautiful snowflakes appeared!
We had a lot of fun with our new friends!
More penguins appeared in our classroom to help us practice our reading.
The kids also used their imaginations and some "winter wear" to create some fun designs.
This group made a person.
Some groups designed bridges.
Others designed whole towns complete with bouncy houses!
WOW! They are quite the designers!
We've got spirit yes we do...
We've got spirit how about you?
Spirit Day brought some excitement to our reading stations!
The kids cheered their way through their "popcorn" words!
YAY!
We love to read!
We ended our day in the gym...
It was a very important volleyball game...
It was the teachers versus the 8th graders.
It was a nail biter!
Three cheers for a terrific Spirit Day!
Our week ended with Sports Day...
AND it was our 100TH DAY of school!
It was the ultimate ZERO HERO DAY!
We had some "100 Challenges" to get us warmed up. We ran in place for 100 seconds.
Then we jumped for 100 seconds.
Then we were quiet for 100 seconds (that one was definitely a challenge!)
Finally we were ready to hop our way to 100.
Each group hopped a set of 10.
Finally when we had reached all the way to 99
we JUMPED up for 100!
We were also busy painting 100 handprints
to create a wonderful 100 Day poster.
Our tummies were also excited as for the 100th Day
as we created a 100 Day snack.
Each kindergartner took 10 of 10 different snacks to make 100 pieces in their trail mix. YUMMY!
We were also busy reading 100 books!
Every time someone read a book, we made a tally mark. We made it all the way to 94!
More 100 Day fun continued outside.
We took one hundred steps...
Yay! We made it all the way to the end of the playground!
Back in the classroom we made some stylish 100 Day glasses.
The kids also had a great time working together
to build with 100 stacking cups.
They also used 100 pattern blocks
to create some amazing designs.
The day ended with a very special Winter Olympics Assembly.
The teacher took on the students in some exciting events.
There was "ice hockey".
Speed skating.
The students sure were speedy!
There was also bobsled racing.
Some of the teachers had a little trouble with that one!
Mr. Debrick took on Mr. Marolf in figure skating.
Mr. Marolf went on to challenge one of the 8th graders.
It was a great competition!
The Olympics ended with cross country skiing.
Each student then received a medal with a cross and a Bible verse on it.
It was a great Olympics to remind us "It is Still All About Jesus!"
YAY! What a GREAT week!
We are so blessed to be a part of the Zion family.
