We were jumping for joy to start off our week in the gym with Mrs. Jennings!
The kids had a great time getting in the routine of warming up for gym.
Then they got started playing a game called "Jesus Tag".
Then we set to work building letters with wooden sticks.
The next step was adding some silly shapes to the wooden letters.
We also used the alphabet cubes to make some unique creations.
We even added some red cups to the mix.
Some girls decided to serve up some alphabet cubes for a "yummy" treat!
In the afternoon we were finishing up our work with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees.
After picking a trunk,
the kids rolled a dice
to see how many sticks they needed to add to their trees.
The kindergartners also enjoyed using our new math tool...
Attribute blocks!
Some kids decided to sort them all by color! Great teamwork!
We also worked hard finishing up our coconut trees.
Each child added their name to their tree.
We were all stacked up for more fun on Tuesday!
The kids got to work using their imaginations to create with these circle disks.
Another great story we read this week was Chrysanthemum. We talked about how our words are very powerful and can "crumple" someone's heart. We can also use our words to encourage each other.
Then we did a special project where we decorated our name and talked about why our name is special. I loved the fun stories they told about their names!
Another activity was building putting together alphabet puzzles.
The kids had a blast running up and down the turf.
It was so nice, because it was in the shade!
Wednesday was a very busy day for us!
We got to have music with Mrs. Crumrine our music teacher.
The kids enjoyed singing "Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar?" to help learning each other's names.
We also listened to some fun music and practiced keeping the beat.
AND following Mrs. Crumrine's silly actions!
Next up we headed to our very first chapel.
We sang a lot of fun and familiar songs.
We also learned some new songs!
Pastor Rouland was a our chapel leader. He brought his friend Rupert!
The kids also had fun having recess on the soccer field!
When we made it back to our classroom, we read this AMAZING book about our bodies. The kids were full of questions and loved learning about the incredible way God made them.
They had fun using these "connectors" to create people.
We were also working on a mysterious project.
The kids had to assemble a shape camera like a puzzle.
They were very curious why they were making cameras???
In the afternoon, we read this silly book about a monster going to school. It talked about all the different emotions the monster felt when he went to school.
We got to work using clay to create different people.
Some kids chose just to use clay to create a person.
Others used different loose parts with the clay.
The kids love their morning free choice time to build and create.
These girls used the magnetic blocks to build a castle.
These girls made bunk beds!
The kids were very excited to discover they were going on an ALPHABET ADVENTURE with their cameras!
"We're looking for things from A-Z. Do you have something you could show to me?"
Miss Carol, one of our lunch helpers, had a corn dog!
Mrs. Jennings JUMPED!
Our adventure continued as we snuck down the hall.
We found Mrs. Holtz who gave everyone a HIGH-FIVE.
Mrs. Tann, our nurse, showed the kids a little tooth box.
Our other nurse stopped by too!
Mrs. Kainady blew everyone a kiss!
We also ventured over to the church office.
Mrs. Adams had an apple and some apple juice to share.
Mr. Geuns had some grapes and golf balls.
We even hiked it all the way up to the balcony and found Mr. Thoelke with a tea bag.
Ms. Steinbacher had our favorite office to visit, and she gave each kiddo a sticker from Sunday School.
And of course... Z is for ZION!
Friday we were ready to start our day with Mrs. Jennings.
Another great game of "Jesus Tag"!
We were excited to get our Friday dance moves on back in the classroom.
The kids enjoyed using the pattern blocks to make some fun creations.
We also started working on strengthening our hands with squishy balls.
This will help with our pencil grips.
Our sea creatures had fun splashing onto the letters we found in this game!
I called out a letter or a letter sound
and the kids had to find it on their chart.
The kids also enjoyed going on an alphabet adventure outside.
Mrs. Tomlinson also stopped by for a quick visit on Friday.
She is our amazing school counselor! She will be popping in throughout the year to teach the kids and get to know them better.
We discovered that Magnatiles are special magnetic shapes perfect for building.
Thanks for stopping by!
Let's see what we serve up next week!
