That's a Wrap!

The last week of school was filled with LOTS of smiles and giggles!

We started off the week with our ARTSY activities!

We kicked off the day by MIXING IT UP a bit with this "magical" book!

The kids LOVED making the pages do all kinds of crazy things!

They also enjoyed making play-doh creations.

This silly story had the kids laughing with excitement!
(WARNING:  There is one page I skip in here that is not appropriate for school.  Just in case you happen to read it at your house.)

It also inspired us to create some interesting artwork with our arms!

The kids also had a BLAST painting Jackson Pollock style!

They threw paint in the box.

Dropped ping pong balls in the box.
And even created their own painting tools.

Mr. Debrick even joined in on the fun!

What beautiful masterpieces they created!

Some of the kids looked just like the little boy from our story!  :)

We were moving and shaking in this exciting math game of "I'm Bigger"!

The kids had to run to pick up a number.

They had to run quickly to get to the pile of numbers first.

They picked from either pile
and decided who had the biggest number.
The contestant with the biggest number stayed for another round.
Before we started our talent show, we read one of my favorite books called, You are Special by Max Lucado.  If you haven't  read it, please do!  It is a great reminder for grown up too!  My favorite quote is:  "Remember, you are special because I made you.  And I don't make mistakes."

We had a few jokesters at our talent show this year!

They definitely had the kids laughing!

Sometimes the kids even figured out the punchline!

Some kids showed off their flexibility

and their dance moves.

We definitely had some hidden talents in the group.

Hazel recently learned how to walk on stilts!

We have some very talented musicians in this group too!

Ian showed us his talent of building as he very quickly used legos to create a masterpiece.

And Micah read a story to everyone.
God definitely has blessed our kindergartners with some incredible talents!

We WHEELY enjoyed moving onto summer with our WHEELS DAY!

The kids had a chance to share their Wheels Project.

Each child told us what letter they were moving us to and one special thing about their project.

Everybody's was so unique!

They were so proud of their creations!

From R2D2...

to an ice cream truck.

We had it all!

This special map helped us drive to our popcorn words.

One person put out the popcorn words while another friend drove to the right words.

The kids also enjoyed painting with cars.

Look at the fun tracks they made!
It was a little messy too!

The kids also had fun zooming across the letters as they read our "stop light " words!

Our day wasn't quite done yet!  Our final MASKED READER showed up...

COOKIE MONSTER!!!

The kids had a REALLY hard time guessing this one!

Cookie Monster is a girl, has children, but doesn't work at our school or church.

The kids were stumped!  They were a little nervous to see who it could be!

Surprise!  It was my mom!

Even Cookies Monster's grandson didn't recognize her!

Cookie Monster  read us a Berenstein Bear story about learning to ride a bike.

The kids had a great time listening to the story!

They also had quite a few hugs for Cookie Monster.

My mom used to be a preschool teacher so she loved all the questions and hugs!

I loved having her stop by too!  :)

In the afternoon the kids enjoyed making ramps and race tracks.

They are quite the construction workers!

Somewhere in their designs they had to include numbers.

They even figured out how to make tunnels so the cars could drive to the numbers.

They were also busy selling cars!

They had to line the cars up with price tags.

Then they had to figure out how much they could spend on their car.

It was another fantastic day!

It was not just another day in kindergarten...

We were ready to head to the BEACH!

In gym class the kids voted on their favorite activity to do...

It was Camping Tag!
The kids danced, ran, or skipped their way through the campsite.
When I blew the whistle the campers had to quickly get to their tents...

before the BEAR got them!

They absolutely LOVE this game!

Back in the classroom it was time to hit the beach!

The kids read books out in the "sun" on their beach towels.

I caught a few of them catching up on their zzzz's!  :)

They also enjoyed finding the missing word under the seashells.
The "crab" went and gave everyone a shell with a secret word hiding underneath.

When they opened their eyes a surprise was waiting for them!

The kids also did a great job of putting these mixed up seashells in the right order.
If they did it correctly, it turned into a sentence!

We also headed outside for some fun spelling adventures.

Each team picked a popcorn word.

As they spelled the word,

they shook their towel.

Once they spelled the whole word,

they "threw" the word up in the air!

Suns out... FUN'S out!  :)

WHAT?!  Another fun visitor!

Miss Julia was back with her friend Miss Betty!

The contestants were ready to be special helpers.

This time the BIG COOKING SHOW was all about  WHOLE and HALF... Sharing is Caring!
The kids showed Miss Julia and Miss Betty how to cut the food in half.

Miss Betty worked hard to cut the cheese in half!

The kids were quite impressed with her cutting skills!

Miss Betty and Miss Julia were sad to leave, but they left the kids with a little surprise.

The kids LOVED practicing WHOLE and HALF with graham crackers!

Thanks Miss Betty and Miss Julia for the YUMMY math lesson!

A few more fun activities ended our day...

The kids were excited to do a little shopping at our DIME store.

Smiles could be seen at our sand castle station too!

The kids used hard blocks and some wooden planks to create sand castles.

They even had a chance to play with some very special sand.

They couldn't believe how it felt!
We were ready for a SUPER day to end the year!

We kicked off the day singing one of our favorite songs...

"Shake a Friend's Hand".

It always puts a smile on our faces!

To finish out our time to together... we watched two special videos.
Miss Reed Gets Ready for Kindergarten

Memories 2023

We hope you enjoy these special videos as much as we did!

Have a SUPER summer!

JESUS LOVES YOU and SO DO I!
