Take a peek at what popped up this week!
We started off our short week with chapel led by Mrs. Bernhardt and her 1st graders!
Total - $497.01
Reminder - all offerings are going to Trinity Jeff City to help them rebuild!
Reminder - all offerings are going to Trinity Jeff City to help them rebuild!
Thank you for your generosity!
We found some more familiar faces at chapel!
Back in the classroom it was time for our T-Party!
We started off with a little twister!
Mrs. Collins called out a word and a color...
They had to keep their bodies under control so they wouldn't fall!
They LOVED this game!
They were also busy going on a t-shirt hunt!
She looked around the room for words that were hidden on the shirts.
So exciting to discover the t-shirts had so many words the kids can read now?!!
In the afternoon the t-shirt store was open for business!
They had to find the price tag and tell the banker how much money they needed.
They even wrote receipts for the purchases.
Attention all customers there is a sale in aisle 2! :)
They are quite the super shoppers!
Finally it was time tea time!
Cheers!
They enjoyed a little tea (a.k.a. apple juice).
And made some toasted t's!
The kids LOVED the toasted t's!
The kids also enjoyed tie-dying their own tiny t-shirts!
I can't believe how amazing they all turned out!
Bring on more adventures...
For gym we played a little game called FLOWER POWER!
The flowers danced and ran around
but they had to be careful!
If they got caught by a weed,
they had to sit in the garden until the "hose" came and gave them some water. They were very tired after this game! :)
There was more flowery fun to be had back in the classroom!
This little flower helped the kids practice some reading and writing.
We also worked hard listening for "sh", "th", and "ch" at the beginning of words.
They had to put the right petal word on the right flower.
In the afternoon we took advantage of the beautiful day to go on a little walk.
We were busy keeping track of living and nonliving things.
We discovered the basketball hoop was nonliving but junior high kids are living!
We found some more fun friends that are living creatures! :)
The store was open for business again!
This time we were busy selling flowers.
We were all lined up for some exciting adventures on Thursday!
We had all our ducks in a row as we worked together to make these ducky sentences.
They had to match the right duck up to the right sentence on the pond.
They also had to figure out these mixed up ducks.
Once they got them all lined up, they had to find the right punctuation mark to end the sentence.
The kids also learned how to play dominoes this week.
Instead of lining them up and knocking them down, we worked on taking turns and matching them up.
It was little tricky at first, but they got the hang of it.
They first had to put dots around the dove.
Then they added lots of dots to their pictures.
They were so excited about their masterpieces.
It's not by might; nor by power, but by my spirit.
Zechariah 4:6
The kids were also busy subtracting "duck" feathers.
The duck feathers blew away, and the kids had to create a subtraction number sentence.
YAY! We made it to Friday!
We started off Friday with a special visitor.
Mrs. Martin came back to teach us Spanish on Cinco De Mayo!
She read us the story
¿Has visto a mi patito? by Nancy Tafuri (Have You Seen My Duckling?)
The banker was back
and so was our store!
This time we had a duck store!
We could only buy a duck
that matched the price of our money from the banker.
Be careful! Kindergartners are ready to spend some money! :)
We ended our day with a trip to the Commons.
There we enjoyed a LOLLIPOP CONCERT!
Mrs. Holtz teaches STRINGS.
The kids played several songs including a pirate song! Ask your child what they were wearing!
The kids absolutely loved it!
They even stayed to ask Mrs. Holtz questions.
AND they were VERY excited to get lollipops!
Stay tuned...
More adventures headed our way next week!
