We were dressed
for success this week!
we searched for words under "turtle shells".
Once we read the word,
we had to match it up to a list of CVC (consonant/vowel/consonant) words.
This little turtle popped up some CVC words too!
The kids also had the challenge of adding
and balancing turtle shells.
It was a little tricky to get them all stacked up!
The kids also had fun tossing pom poms to their popcorn words.
Tuesday it was time for our T-PARTY!
The kids went searching for words on t-shirts.
Then they had to bring it to the cashier, who scanned the shirt.
Of course they had to pay for their shirts!
The kids LOVED this game!
"Thanks for shopping at our store!"
The kids also did a great job of making words to match the t-shirts
and lining the t-shirts up in the correct order.
Finally it was time for our T-Party!
We had toasted t's!
Some special friends joined us at our T-Party too!
It was a T-rrific day!
You have to put up with the rain, if you want to get to the rainbow!
The kids worked hard ...
to make these little rainbows!
They also discovered dominoes make good rainbows too!
AND it sure is fun to knock them down!
The next day they made the rainbow even BIGGER!
Dr. Seuss was on the loose for one final day... HAT DAY!
We had a very special chapel led by student council.
They did a couple of different skits for us.
They taught us all about being kind.
Reading Cat in the Hat brought up some very interesting questions...
"What would you do if Cat in the Hat came to your house?"
"Would you tell your mom if the Cat in the Hat had been to your house?"

It also inspired us to play some fun hat games of our own!
Each child pulled a word out of the hat.
No peeking!
After reading the word,
the kids had to work together to put the words together to make a sentence.
Great teamwork!
They also played a fun hat game with Mrs. McBroom.
The words were all mixed up on the hats, so the kids took turns putting them in the right order.
We also got to pretend we were Cat in the Hat during math. The kids sneaked some hats away.
We had to figure out how many he took!
Mrs. Helmkamp joined us for a Dr. Seuss breakout box in the afternoon.
They had to solve several puzzles
to figure out the secret codes.
Then they used the codes to unlock the locks.
Once they unlocked the locks,
they discovered a special prize inside!
Next up we were working on balancing the cat!
They each made their own special tower for the cat to balance on!
We were sorry to see Dr. Seuss and his friends go,
but he sure did SERVE UP some fun adventures this month!
The wind blew in some fun alphabet adventures to finish off the week!
We used this special fan to blow some letters to Mrs. Collins.
The letter that got to her first
was the winner!
The kids were so excited to see which letter would win!
Whichever letter won, was the letter they had to practice writing.
We finally had a beautiful day to "catch some wind".
The kids had to try to catch some wind by first walking.
Then they got to run!
They discovered running helped them catch the most wind!
It was so fun to watch their faces light up with smiles!
They LOVED this experiment!
If your kids are ever bored, all you need is a plastic bag and some string!
TA DA!
A wind catcher!
The kids also had fun designing kites,
using their own wind!
It was a little bit of a challenge, but they turned out great!
Hats off to one great week!
We can't wait to see what adventures pop up next week!
