We were all dressed for success this week!
We started off our week by helping lead the congregation
in some beautiful songs in church.
They did a GREAT job!
Back in the classroom we were finishing up our discussion on leaves.
We were also hard at work figuring out ways to make the number six.
We put letter cubes in the muffin tins with tweezers.
Some "muffins" were red and some were blue.
We then wrote down what letters were in the muffin tin.
The kids were also excited to practice their combinations of six
by tossing pom poms into the muffin tins.
They had to write down how many made it in and how many landed out of the muffin tin.
It was so beautiful out we went on another hike.
We were looking for signs of fall and things to help us with our artwork.
We had a special visit from Mrs. Haun this week.
She read to us about a little old lady who swallowed some leaves!
The little old lady kept eating and eating more CRAZY things!
One little girl said, "I have never laughed so hard before!"
Suddenly the little old lady sneezed...
Out came a SCARECROW!
The kids can't wait for Mrs. Haun to come again soon!
We then worked hard to make our own special leaf creations!
Do you see the face hiding in this picture?
Look at this mermaid!
I love seeing their imaginations hard at work!
Mrs. Steinbacher helped us out with PE this week!
She taught the kids all about Sport Stacking!
The kids had so much fun,
but they had to really concentrate on using both hands.
They even played a fun game called POPCORN!
Then they did a relay race.
Their team had to stack the cups into towers and then take them down.
We can't wait to have more fun next week!
Music class was also exciting!
The kids got to try out the bells!
Pastor Nelson from Chapel of the Cross led our chapel this week.
He told us a great Bible story reminding us to trust in God to take care of all of our needs.
Next week you can bring in canned goods for our chapel offering to help out the Seminary families.
We read another great book by Lois Ehlert called NUTS TO YOU!
Then we played a game
where the kids had to match the top half of the acorn to the bottom half.
If they had the matching letter to the picture, they yelled out "NUTS TO YOU!"
The kids LOVED this game!
Next up was balancing our items that we found in nature.
It was tricky getting the acorns to balance with the wood chips.
We were all stacked up to finish the week with some very special visitors...
Mrs. Helmkamp came to join us and brought her little friend BEEBOT.
Beebot was helping the squirrels.
The kids had to program BEEBOT so that he would move to the right acorn.
They LOVED it!
We were also busy making letters using our things that we found in nature.
We read another fun squirrel book. In this story the little squirrel's wagon breaks because he is carrying too many acorns.
The kids worked hard to create their own acorn carrier.
They came up with some very clever designs.
Our Bible story this week was Joshua and the Battle of Jericho.
We marched our way to the city Jericho.
We marched and we marched,
and we marched!
On the 7th time around the WALLS came tumbling down!
Some wonderful 4th graders surprised us by hiding inside the wall and knocking it down!
We found out we knew a couple of the fourth graders pretty well! :)
What a great way to remember NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!
We are getting ready for some fun turkey adventures next week...
Our turkey was missing his feathers!
We rolled the dice to see how many feathers we needed to add.
Then we figured how many more we needed to get to the number 8.
Watch out turkey! We are going to have more fun with you next week!
It was a picture perfect week,
filled with lots of smiles.
I wonder what we will be up to next week...
