We were leaping into a SUPER week!
We had everything lined up to get started on our last full week of school.
We kicked off the week talking about Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
The kids had the challenge of creating beds
and chairs for the bears.
We were also trying out different jobs,
including being a librarian.
We were also working on being zookeepers.
The kids brought some zoo animals in to join us
for some fun and learning.
Part of our zoo was paying for tickets to get into the zoo
as well as buying a ticket for the train.
WOOHOO! All aboard!
The kids had to dance around the chairs.
When the music stopped they had to line up the -ine words.
We were also checking on our time as we wrote down when we "fed" the animals and made a feeding chart.
The zoo animals were let out of their cages to play a few games and read stories.
The kid LOVED creating their own zoos.
They used milk crates to create cages.
They had to figure out which animals could be in the same cages.
The animals helped us with our drawing and writing.
The kids also had fun measuring how long their animals were.
It may be a ZOO in our classroom,
but we are still packing in as much awesome learning as we can.
3 Little Pigs was another fun story we focused on this week.
The kids really enjoyed creating their own sturdy houses.
They even tested it out with a fan!
This week we also had a chance to talk to my brother about his coaching job.
The kids did a GREAT job of asking questions
We were dressed in purple on Thursday to celebrate a special little lady's birthday.
We also headed to church for chapel.
I always enjoy hearing the kids singing
and praising God.
A special visitor also stopped by.
Miss Julia stopped by to talk about sharing, making sure it was EQUAL.
Of course she had to bring her good friend Miss Betty to help.
The kids helped figure out how to cut the food equally.
Sharing is caring!
The kids amazed Miss Julia with their skills!
We were also cooking up a storm.
We were making pizzas, putting the lowercase letters on top of the capital letters.
They were also busy listening for sound pizzas.
The kids LOVED paying for pizzas.
They designed some amazing pizzas
but had to make sure they paid for them.
HOT PIZZA coming through!
Of course they had to make their own pizzas.
They put sauce on first.
Added some pepperoni.
And of course they needed to sprinkle on some cheese.
YUMMY!
The result was one tasty pizza!
Finally it was time to celebrate with a special little lady!
We sang to Julia and enjoyed some fun conversations.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!
Finally it was time to let our butterflies go!
This group of butterflies was so excited to leave their cage!
Not sure what that says about our classroom. :)
The kids LOVED it!
Mr. Debrick also stopped by.
He helped us out with a crazy art project!
This kids had a blast doing some ACTION painting!
They got a little messy...
but the masterpieces these kids created were amazing!
The kids also had a great time at our BUBBLE Dance Party!
Pastor Rouland even showed up to help us with our dance moves!
Being an artist isn't always messy.
We tried our hand out as sculptures
and creators.
Finally it was time to perform our plays. The kids worked SO hard this week practicing and creating.
The story of the tortoise and the hare
had the kids laughing and smiling for their acting classmates.
YAY Turtle!
There was also the story of the Little Red Hen.
3 Billy Goats Gruff also showed up!
Snip, snap, snout... our story's out!
Our last play was The Three Little Pigs.
The kids did an incredible job of acting out their stories!!!
More exciting things our headed our way next week!
