Hooray!
It was another GREAT week of building memories!
We finished up talking about farms by writing a letter to my Uncle Steve (who is a farmer in Iowa),
and the kids also built some amazing barns.
This week we also headed over to church for chapel for the first time.
Pastor Rouland led our chapel service
with the help of his friend Gary.
It was so great to be in church worshiping together.
We had two boys who celebrated their baptismal birthdays!
Tuesday we celebrated knowing all of our POPCORN words by having a Popcorn Party!
The kids worked hard making cone shaped hats for the party.
It was a little trickier than they thought it would be!
Each kindergartner had their own unique design
and special way to attach it to their heads.
They had fun playing a popcorn game with cones.
After writing down 4 popcorn words they had to read the word
.before tossing it to their partner.
Their partner had to try to catch it in the cone.
Some came REALLY close!
They worked hard to catch the popcorn words!
Another fun popcorn game was smashing the popcorn!
A friend called out a popcorn word.
If you had it, you had to smash it!
We ended our day making popcorn...
The excitement was building as they waited for the popcorn to POP!
Each kindergartner wrote their name by a popcorn word to see if it would land on their name!
FINALLY it popped!
AND it was time to enjoy some popcorn!
Every single kid LOVED the popcorn!
It was a perfect way to end the day!
We were also busy taking x-rays this week!
The kids pretended to be doctors trying to fix some mixed up sentences.
They had to put them in the right order
and then turn on the "x-ray" machine to check to see if they were right!
They also had fun hiding popcorn words under the sombrero.
The kids had to figure out which popcorn word was missing!
We ran into Mrs. Lohlman in the hallway.
We had a little dance party with her to celebrate the day.
She showed us some of her dance moves, and we showed her a few of ours too!
A bunch of boxes showed up to end our week.
The kids had a great time building with boxes.
They also wrote down all the words they found on boxes.
AND they wrote down popcorn words on the boxes!
We took our box adventures outside!
The kids had to work together to put together a mixed up sentence.
Then they had to do whatever the sentence told them to do.
They painted the box.
They made the roof out of the box lid.
And they made windows and doors in the box.
The box turned out great!
A box truly can be many things!
They also had fun measuring the boxes.
The kids also had fun measuring their hands
and their mom's hands.
They even used lids to measure with.
They were surprised at how big their parents' hands were!
After doing some measuring
they were all set to build again.
This time we were using different 3-D shapes to build with.
Some teams worked together to make whole cities!
Others made castles.
I just love watching them work together to come up with AMAZING ideas!
We can't wait for more adventures next!
