Hang on...
You are in for a FULL week of adventures!
With the election in full swing this week,
we decided to vote for our favorite letter of the alphabet.
We set to work making the letters of the alphabet look fancy.
Some added special jewels to their letters.
Others added fun decorations.
We also made pattern necklaces and added our favorite letter to it.
The kids had a great time making posters for their favorite letter.
And even gave some awesome campaign speeches!
˙Then they each took a turn voting for their favorite letter.
In the end letter Aa won by a landslide!
Money was also being tossed around in our classroom,
as we learned to count pennies.
And then the kids had to go to the "bank" to find the number to match.
Mrs. Helmkamp also stopped by this week with an aMAZE-ing project!
The kids designed mazes as a team.
Each kid picked out something to add detail to the maze.
The stories the kids made up to go with it were just as great as the mazes!
Next each team will work on some coding to help friends get through the maze.
We were SO blessed to have some beautiful fall weather!
The kids were excited to be outside running around!
Sometimes they even took a break to relax!
We also worked on leaves this week.
They found some other fun things in nature too!
It was so nice outside,
we took our Jesus time story of going to the Promise Land outside!
The kids had a great time painting wooden leaves
and creating prints with them.
They turned out beautiful!
Some squirrels showed up this week too!
These little squirrels went searching for the rest of their acorns.
We are NUTTY for reading!
More acorn adventures occurred as the kids played a new BEAT the CLOCK game.
This time they were on the search to match the acorn bottoms with the acorn tops.
They had so much fun and worked REALLY hard to beat the clock.
We are NUTTY for numbers too!
The kids also had a great time balancing acorns
and pinecones.
They couldn't believe how light the acorns were.
Creating with nature was a GREAT way to end the week!
After reading a book called Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert
The kids got to work creating their own stories
with leaves
seeds, rocks,
and other fun things found in nature.
Some creations looked a lot like Lois Ehlert's!
Others came up with their own unique ideas.
Can you tell what these creations are?
Mrs. Haun ended our week
with a funny lady who swallowed some leaves!
The kids LOVED the story!
With every page she turned
they waited to see what she would swallow next!
It turned out the old lady sneezed everything into a SCARECROW!
What a great story!
The kids each said "Hi!" to Mrs. Haun
and then felt inside the little old lady's mouth!
It was a fantastic way to end our week.
Hi-five for a GREAT week!
We are all lined up for next week's adventures in learning!
