Love was in the air this week!
We were busy with Valentine Day fun
as we practiced our addresses and "delivered" some valentines.
We were also doing some experimenting with hearts.
The kids were busy balancing hearts
and floating hearts.
They were very surprised at some of the hearts that floated!
Some of the hearts were a little tricky
and floated and sank!
The kids LOVED this activity!
We were also busy getting our HEARTS ready for KIDS HEART CHALLENGE
as we practiced our jumping skills with Mrs. Steinbacher.
Some of us jumped a long time with her!
The short rope was a challenge,
but we are mastering it one hop at a time!
We also discovered hula hoops can help us with our hopping skills too.
Some girls even invented their own hopping game!
Miss Bethany led our chapel this week. She reminded us that the Bible is actually a love letter from God written to us.
Finally the day arrived. It was time to pass out our valentines.
The kids were SO excited to share their valentine boxes!
Everything from unicorns
to robots showed up
to help us collect our valentines.
We went around to each name and dropped off our valentines.
The kids did such a great job of helping each other deliver valentines.
Our Valentines Day was not complete until we had our party!
Once again some more fun helpers came to join us.
The kids were busy painting
and decorating hearts.
They also had a great time at ring toss.
They had to toss the ring onto the heart.
We've got quite the ring tossers in the group.
Making heart necklaces was also on our agenda at our party.
Our necklaces turned out so great
some of the kids wanted to give their necklaces away. :)
Ping pong toss was quite the challenge!
As we tossed the ball into the cup
our joy couldn't be contained!
It was one great party
that left us full of smiles!
This fun game inspired us to play a little ping pong game of our own.
The kids had to push the ball to a popcorn word.
Once they reached the cup, they read the word
and discovered there was money hidden under the cup!
They had to count how much money they earned for their popcorn word.
It was one CENTsational game!
The kids also had fun acting out the story of Jesus calming the storm.
As the winds roared and the waves crashed,
Jesus simply said, "BE STILL!" and calmed the storm.
Our own little storm was blowing outside, but that didn't stop this brave Friday reader!
We are so grateful she made it safely to surprise us with a GREAT story!
As the storms of our lives continue to pop up we remember our words from our special Bible verses...
"Be still and know that I am God"
because "GOD IS LOVE".
