This was one amazing week of fun and Christmas adventures!
We kicked off the week with some candy cane fun.
The kids used the candy cane shapes to make different designs.
Some kids made their names.
Some even worked together to make a manger scene! :)
We also did some candy cane experiments.
We discovered the one in cold water lost its stripes the fastest!
Balancing candy canes and candy mints was also a challenge.
They even balanced a giant candy cane.
The kids also sorted candy canes.
They made some great patterns!
Candy canes are great fun!
We also spent some time with our Prayer Pals.
We had a special Christmas celebration with them.
First we shared a few stories with them
and shared some pictures with them.
Then the music began!
We sang some songs together.
We even led them in some FA LA LA LA LA's!
These special Prayers Pals are such amazing
people, filled with love and kindness.
We are so blessed to have them praying for us and even more blessed to call them friends.
Pastor Schwab also stopped by this week to read to the kids.
We loved having him come visit!
Mrs. Helmkamp also came by with another challenge for us!
This kids had some clues to figure out
that would give them a combination to a lock.
Once they figured out all of the combinations
there was a special gift inside from Mrs. Helmkamp!
Mrs. Martin and some of her 8th grade Spanish students
helped us celebrate Christmas in a very special way.
They acted out the story of Mary and Joseph looking for a place to stay.
It is a Spanish celebration called Las Posadas.
At the end they had a big party!
The 8th graders then played a Spanish version of "Eye SPY" withe kindergartners.
The kids had so much fun!
Our week was also very busy working on our Christmas service with the 8th graders.
The kids worked so hard.
The 8th graders did a great job of helping the kindergartners!
They all did a great job of sharing the good news.
Here is a link to the service.
Our week ended with a GREAT party!
Thank you to ALL of the wonderful parents
that stopped by to help out!
The kids had so much fun making ornaments
And designing some very special cards.
They were so excited to deliver them!
They also had a great time playing games too!
It was a great party and a great week filled with smiles and fun!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Here is a little movie we made retelling the Christmas story. Enjoy!
