Red Ribbon Week

We were flying our way into another fantastic week as we celebrated RED RIBBON  week!

Monday we "elected to be healthy" and wore red, white, and blue to prove it.

Some froggy fun hopped into our week too

as we leap frogged over letters.

With every letter they leapt over

the kids had to say the name of the letter and its sound.

Tuesday we were "teaming up against drugs"!

We had some Cardinals fans show up...

Some Blues fans too.

We even had some Chiefs fans!

We had to search  hard for Packers fans.

October is also Pastor Appreciation month,

so we snuck over to church to surprise our Pastors.

We even hid in their offices!

We waited and waited and waited for the pastors to show up...

Finally  they arrived.  

We presented them with cards, hugs and smiles.  :)

Wednesday was a SUPER day!

A bunch of SUPER kids showed up.

We were all ready to make SUPER choices 

and honor a SUPER little boy who bravely fought cancer  and is now with the GREATEST super hero of all... JESUS!

The school celebrated Drew's birthday by collecting a special offering of super hero toys.  The toys went to an organization called "Friends of Kids with Cancer".  The school collected over 292 toys!

Mrs. Cornejo's 5th graders led chapel this week.

They talked about how we are like a pumpkin

and God is our gardener.

We also had fun playing super hero games back in our classroom.

These caped crusaders know their letters and are ready to save the world!

Crazy hair  on Thursday reminded us that we are "crazy about being drug free!

A bunch of firefighters showed up too!

A CRAZY firefighter came who looked a lot like Mrs. Reed!

She was excited to give the kids high-fives even though she could barely hold her head up!

The kids were able to go outside and see a real firetruck too.

They each were able to go inside 

and see what a firetruck looks like on the inside.

The kids LOVED visiting with the firefighters.

The firefighters even showed us their lights as they pulled away.

It was a fun morning with the firefighters!

Back in the classroom these little firefighters showed up

to help us spell words.

The kids did a great job of saving the houses.

To end our day, a fun "Friday reader" came and read to us about monsters.

Our week had been so fun, we couldn't even look to see what would happen next...

We knew it would be full of surprises and fun.

By the end of the day we were ready to party!

A special snack kicked off our party.

A bunch of fun moms 

showed up to help us out.

We played some exciting games.

One game the kids loved was racing spiders. 

They also enjoyed carrying "eyeballs"

Who knew they would be so good at balancing eyeballs!

Creating fall decorations

and colorful masks

rounded out our WONDERFUL Harvest Party!
