We were all lined up
for a week full of adventures.
Some umbrellas popped up
and helped us with our spelling.
It was also a GREAT DAY FOR UP!
Mrs. Fuhr challenged the kids to keep their popcorn words up!
As we kept our "popcorn words" popping...
we were also busy trying to figure out how to keep the cups up!
These kids are very clever!
Cooking was also on our agenda this week.
We talked about how great it was that we are all unique and not like cookies made from cookie cutters.
SO of course we had to make some cookies!
These kindergartners are quite the bakers.
While we waited for the dough to chill, we played some fun gingerbread man games.
It was a race to see who could make it the gingerbread house first!
We finished the cookies by cutting them into little gingerbread men.
We couldn't wait to pop them in the oven!
When it was finally time to eat the cookies, something crazy happened!
The cookies went missing! The gingerbread man ran away and took all of his friends too!
We decided to go undercover to look for the gingerbread man.
He gave us some clues to follow.
We headed out to go find him...
The clues led us to many different places!
Every place we stopped
we asked if the gingerbread man had left any clues.
The answer was always the same...
The gingerbread man did leave clues and he said,
"RUN, RUN as fast as you can. You can't catch me. I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
The kids even looked outside at recess for him.
We just couldn't catch up with him.
Even Mr. Thoelke couldn't catch him!
We were about to give up
when we found one more clue that led us back to the classroom.
We still didn't find him in the classroom!
So we decided to set some traps for the Gingerbread Man.
The children thought we should design a house
for him to live in.
They also made some traps to catch him.
At the end of the day the Gingerbread Man returned all of our cookies with some yummy frosting!
We also found one more letter.
That letter helped us unlock a special lockbox filled with gingerbread man stickers to remember our special day!
We were also busy looking for shadows
as we prepared for Groundhog Day.
Most of the kids predicted he would see his shadow.
To celebrate Groundhog Day we played some shadow games.
They had to find the shadow's groundhog.
Then they had to find where the shadow was hidden.
The kids had a great time making their own shadows.
Without a shadow of a doubt, it was a GREAT week!
We ended this fun-filled week another fun Friday reader!
To finish off January, we put together a little video about how special God made our friends...
