We were all smiles this week
as some fun adventures awaited us.
Lots of APPLE ADVENTURES popped up.
We learned how to core an apple.
Each child got a spin at the apple coring.
We passed around the skin to feel it. Many thought it was slimy!
We also took at peek at the core.
We then turned our apples into applesauce!
It was delicious!
The children also had apple races
and designed special inventions to get the apples from the orchard to the store.
More APPLE ADVENTURES popped up later in the week.
Each child took an apple and looked very carefully at it.
They then had to describe their apple to their partner.
Our apple adventures continued with taste testing.
Some of the children LOVED the apples.
Others were not too excited about some them.
We voted for our favorite apple.
Granny Smith was the winner!
Ms. Andrews came to help us with our adventures.
We weighed the apples.
It was quite the balancing act.
We also measured how tall they were with linking cubes,
and we measured how round they were with a mini tape measure.
Of course we had to paint with the apples.
Such beautiful apple "A's".
The children also enjoyed creating some wonderful apple trees.
It was a tricky balancing act!
We also had some adventures outside of our classroom.
We met some very special people down in the church basement.
They agreed to be our prayer pals!
We will prayer for them.
And they said they would pray for us.
We drew them some special pictures.
And they read us some fun stories.
They are great story tellers.
We are pretty good story tellers too!
We are excited to have these new friends praying for us.
The 8th graders helped us with another adventure. This one was outside!
They designed rockets that they launched up into the air!
The children did a GREAT job of cheering for them!
Back in the classroom we became "Rocket Readers"
as we landed on the right letter planet that helped us make a word.
The children also did a great job of creating their very own rocketships
AND silly aliens!
Our day was not complete until we headed outside to cheer on the junior high's walk-a-thon.
We did a great job of encouraging them.
We finished off the week with another fun Friday reader.
What a special week!
