Marvelous Week!

WOW!

What a marvelous week we had!

We started off the week with...

a bunch of fun 6th graders.

They came to help with a special project...

Project Runway!
We decorated our people with clothes...

a few accessories...
even some fun hats!
Don't forget the hair!
It was a lot of hard work,

but the kids were so excited and proud of their finished products!

Tuesday some little mice sneaked  into our classroom,
and brought a little magic too!
We acted out some stories about mice.

Mrs. Wegner also sneaked in and helped the kids read.
Matching mice was another fun activity we did.

We even painted like mice (after we read the story Mouse Paint)!

Wednesday was  MONSTEROUSLY exciting!

Pastor Clausing came to visit.

He and his family are going to be missionaries in Africa.

The children really enjoyed listening to him talk about the adventures he will go on.

They asked a lot of great questions and were excited to pray for their family.

What an amazing adventure!

Mr. Marolf also stopped by to read his favorite story...

Where the Wild Things Are! He taught them how to growl...

and then "Be still"!

They were pretty scary monsters...

But wonderfully quiet kindergartners.

It was a fun visit!

I tried to be a monster, but I wasn't quite as good at it!

The children ended the day by making magnetic monsters,

and learned a new art style... mosaics.

Thursday was OPPOSITE DAY!

It was also Mrs. Boettcher's birthday!

The kids insisted on bringing our flags down to the lunch room and singing Happy Birthday to her!
Opposite Day also brought Opposite Olympics and more fun friends!

The first event was quiet event...

The 5th graders read big books

and little books with us.

Event number two was playing catch.

They used big balls and little balls, hard and soft balls.
Event number 3 was speeding stacking!

They created quite the towers.
They even made a few forts

and walls.
Some kindergartners even got built inside the tower!

They sure are creative!

The final event was the opposite obstacle course.
They had to go over, under, around and in-between.
They raced to the finish line after taking a lap.
It was a very tiring event.

But they were still all smiles!
Thanks to the 5th graders for making it such a marvelous Olympics!

We had more opposite fun back in our classroom.

We even had an opposite snack!

It was a sweet success!

The children were awarded special medals for all of their hard work at the Opposite Olympics.

It was quite the memorable week!

Hang on... next week is going to be an exciting week too!
