We were all tangled up in a bunch of learning adventures this week!
Monday we were set to get our wiggles out in gym class.
In math we were busy hiding pumpkins.
One friend delivered pumpkins to their partner.
Then they had to guess how many were still left in the patch.
We started off reading stations reading this GREAT book.
Lacey learns how important it is to be a listener.
Next up the kids headed outside to play twister with a "kindergarten twist".
They had to be really good listeners and listen for the color and letter to touch.
They LOVED this game!
Another station was TOPSY TURVEY.
After spinning the top,
the kids checked to see what picture the top landed closest to.
After writing down the beginning sound, the kids got to feed the correct letter owl the picture.
Tagging letters was also on the agenda.
The kids had a blast attaching letters and then "tagging" the letter in the classroom.
In the afternoon, the kids were using their listening ears!
They had to shake the jars and listening very carefully to find the jar that matched the sound.
It was a tricky game, but the kids did a great job of being careful listeners!
It was a T-rrific start to our week!
Tuesday we were all set for another TEA-rrific Day!
It was time for our T-Party!
The kids each tried some toasted T's.
They also had a little "tea". Pinkies out!
We even had some special friends that started with T join us!
The kids LOVED our T-Party!
For math we were busy tossing "toast"!
The kids took turns tossing 9 pieces of toast.
Then we kept track of how many we caught and how many we dropped.
Next up we wrote down different ways to make the number 9.
For our reading stations, the kids went on a t-shirt hunt.
They were busy looking for letters hiding in the words.
Who knew t-shirts were so fun to read!
Outside the kids were sending tiny t-shirts down the zip-line!
After sending the tiny letter t-shirt down the clothesline,
the kids had to search through the laundry basket and find the picture that matched the letter.
After reading this fun version of "I'm a Little Teapot",
the kids had a great time with this special teacup game!
The kids had to predict how many teacups would fill their pitcher.
The challenge was to try not to spill anything!
The kids loved seeing if their prediction was right!
Oh the suspense!
The kids didn't even realize this game was helping them learn about capacity!
Building with teacups, plates, and toast rounded out our T-Party adventures.
CHEERS! To a totally terrific TEA PARTY!
Wednesday was music day!
Mrs. Crumrine had the kids passing the pumpkin to the beat of a song.
It was a great way to start our morning!
Mrs. Lohman led our chapel this week.
She reminded us that we get to spread God's love throughout the whole wide world.
Just like those streamers seemed like they wouldn't go very far, we realized together we can spread God's love all over the world.
The streamers kept going out the door!
God's love goes far beyond our church doors!
A pumpkin patch popped up in our classroom.
After pulling out a letter seed, the kids had to use the magic pumpkin wand to find the matching pumpkin.
The kids also enjoyed practicing writing letters in the colorful pumpkin seeds.
The kids also enjoyed making the polka dot pumpkins.
Ask your child how we made these unique pumpkins.
In the afternoon the kids were busy working on their memory verse art.
After making some interesting designs on their paper,
Mrs. McBroom surprised them by scraping the paint off to make these amazing masterpieces!
The kids were also busy spinning and writing their numbers.
Then they had to use tweezers
to fill up their little pumpkin buckets.
When they were done, they had to count to see how many seeds were in their buckets.
Thursday the kids enjoyed their extra morning free time.
They have such great imaginations.
Some spiders crawled into our web of learning for math.
The spider investigators reported back how many spiders got stuck in our web.
We had to check to see how many more we needed to make 10 spiders.
After matching these little letter spiders to their spouts,
the kids had to make the letter with playdoh.
The kids also enjoyed using spider rings to read their sentences.
Outside the kids were busy climbing the "spider web" searching for letters.
Once they found the letters,
they had to write them down on their papers.
Look at the pipes the "spiders" had to climb down.
The kids had so much fun with their pipe designs.
Designing spider webs was also on their agenda.
We dashed right into Friday.
The kids loved having a little pizza party race.
They had to see who had the most pizza toppings.
YAY! The kids had a blast playing this game in gym class.
Some silly spiders got loose in our classroom.
The kids went searching for the spiders that were hiding.
Once they found them,
we lined them up to see which was first, second, third, etc.
For reading stations the kids were busy sneaking the spiders out of their webs.
Once they grabbed a spider,
they dropped it on their alphabet chart and practiced writing that letter.
These glittery spiders helped us practice spelling words.
The kids did a great of moving the spiders to make them spell a word.
Outside the kids were working on weaving their way through the spider web obstacle course again.
Their spidey senses are so great for reading!
In the afternoon the kids had a blast with this little spider game.
After rolling the dice
they carefully placed that many spider rings on the stick with a tweezers.
They worked really hard to get them to balance!
Once the stick was full,
they counted to see how many spiders they collected.
The kids also did an amazing job of creating some very unique spider webs!
This one even had a spout!
We finished our busy week with another great Friday reader!
Morgan's mom came and read a great story about a unicorn.
The kids LOVED it so much, they cheered when the story was over! :)
It was the PERFECT way to end our week.
We will be BACK next week for more adventures in learning!
