Run, Run, As Fast as You Can...

Take a peak into our exciting week!
We started off our Monday building and creating all kinds of fun things.

Then it was time to head to gym with Mrs. Jennings.

The kids enjoyed playing an exciting game of PINBALL!

Our day continued with another great folktale.

For math some of the gingerbread men went missing.

The kids had to figure out how many were gone.

Once they found them all,

we created a "number bond" to show how many parts made the whole.

Next up Mrs. Collins helped the kids make their own cookies.

They rolled out the dough and cut out a little gingerbread man.

Some gingerbread letters snuck into our classroom. The kids practiced their handwriting and some even challenged themselves to make words.

We worked on the "-an" chunk as we used different pans and magnetic letters to create words.

The gingerbread spatulas helped us pick up the different letters to create words.

They loved discovering the words they could create by changing one letter!

The kids also worked hard to find homes for the heart word gingerbread men.

Finally it was time to eat our gingerbread cookies, but when we went eat them...
The cookies were gone!

The next day we decided we would go undercover to look for clues to find our cookies!

We found our first clue hiding on the tray.  It said the gingerbread man had run away and taken his friends too!  To find him we had to look for clues!

While we were busy reading Catch That Cookie,

Mrs. Aslin came running in with our first clue!

"Try to keep up because our game has begun.

Are you sure you are ready for clue number one?

I am headed to a building that has lots of sun.

It’s filled with unbelievable kids that are little and fun."

We called Mrs. Oswald who told us to head to a preschool teacher that starts with "R".

Our clue led us to Mrs. Rouland!

Her clue told us to look at the window of Ms. Meckes.

We headed outside and discovered a clue hiding on Ms. Meckes' window.

Her clue led us to grade number 2!

2nd grade had a clue on their window that said...

"He likes baseball and has shoes galore.  To find your next clue, knock upon his door."

It took us a minute, but we figured out it had to be Mr. Marolf!

Mr. Marolf had seen the gingerbread man but he was too quick for him to catch. His clue led us to...

Mrs. Kuhlmann!

She had a clue too!  Her clue led us to ...

Mrs. Bernhardt's door!

On her door we found this clue...

"I was hungry until I went to this place.

I got food in my tummy and smile on my face."

We headed to see the cooks!

Miss Mel had a clue that told us to take a break and have a little recess.

Outside the kids kept looking everywhere for clues.

They found clue #11 hiding in the grass!
Clue #11 told us to go the place where the two pastors are...
Mrs. Adams found us in the church basement.  She said the gingerbread man ran by her and threw a clue at her!

Her clue was a tricky one...

He has lots of keys that do not unlock doors.

Because he plays the piano and so much more!

After much thinking, we realized it was Mr. Thoelke!

Mr. Thoelke said we needed to find a picture of the gingerbread man's uncle.

We had no idea where to look!

Suddenly we found it on Pastor Fieberkorn's window!

Mrs. Adams popped out from his window with another clue.

This clue led us to the junior high building.

We found one final clue hiding outside...

This game has been undeniably fun!  But I have to go now.  I have to run!

So go back to your room and you will see a special surprise just from me!

We were excited to run back to our classroom!

We were a little disappointed that we discovered a book and not our cookies!

After reading the book we found a note that said he would be back in the afternoon,

We decided to make him a little gingerbread house while we waited for him.

Some fun decorations brightened up the house!

Measuring gingerbread men kept our hands busy too!

We also worked hard on making gingerbread traps.

Our final recess gave us a chance to look for more clues.

We snuck back in...

and found a special surprise!

Our cookies were waiting for us in our classroom.

He left us a final note and a portrait of himself.

The cookies had icing with them too!!!

The kids had a blast decorating their cookies!

Many kids said it was the "best day ever"!

We were all "tied up" on Wednesday!

The kids did an AMAZING job of acting out their Bible story with a partner!

I hope they take the time to tell it to you too.  :)

We also enjoyed using some gingerbread men pretzels to act out math problems.

Who knew math could be so yummy!
After reading this hilarious sequel...

We did a few more fun gingerbread activities.
Some gingerbread men were lose in hallway.

The kids went hunting for the cvc words hiding on them and marked them off.

In the afternoon , we were busy working on our memory verse art.

The kids got a little messy and made it "rain" on their paper.

Ms. Steinbacher stopped to help us practice our memory verse with a fun game.

The kids played a Bible verse version of Jenga!

Every time they said a word from their Bible verse, they put down a block.

Sometimes the tower got pretty tall...

They loved it when it fell over!  :)

Our week continued with more adventures on Thursday.

Mrs. Adams led our chapel.

She retold the story of the Good Samaritan and reminded us who our neighbor is.

Thanks for your generosity to support Bethlehem school and church.

Back in the classroom we were busy talking about germs.

For math we were trying to blow germs off of the hanky!

We had to add how many were on plus how many "flew" off.

Pretending to be dentists was also a fun activity we practiced.

We had to examine the alphabet teeth with our "x-ray " machine.

The patients had to to say "AHHH" so we could see inside the mouth.

Then we had to put the teeth in the right order to spell a word.

This activity definitely put a smile on the kids' faces!

More germs showed up in the afternoon.

The kids also enjoyed creating their own germ.

They used special, colorful shapes to make them.

We are germ busters!

Friday we had another great time with Mrs. Jennings!

In the classroom, we set to work cleaning up "CVC germs" with our magic wands.

The kids had to very carefully balance the germ on their wand.

The tooth fairy was also busy delivering money.

The kids had to figure out which sight word tooth was missing and how much money they got.
It was so nice outside, we took advantage of the sun and played a little tooth fairy tag.

The tooth fairy had to tag the word teeth.

Once they tagged all of the teeth...

They had to put the teeth together to make sentence.

They had a blast playing this game.

The kids also enjoyed using tooth brushes to paint with!

To end our week, we had a special Friday BIRTHDAY reader!

It just happened to be my mom!  :)

Thanks for stopping by...
We hope to bring you more smiles next week!
