We were all STACKED up for a GREAT week!
Why were all of these cups in gym???
Time for stacking cups!
The kids LOVED learning this new game in gym class.
Rainy day means... PUZZLE TIME!
They did a great job of working as a team.
The kids went on a leaf hunt to save the letter leaves in the hallway.
They recorded the leaves that they found.
In the classroom the kids were working on putting some people together.
Look carefully these people had letters on them!
The kids were up for the challenge of rearranging the people to make different words.
This game the kids had to follow 3-step directions.
Roll, write, and cover the letter leaf!
In the afternoon the kids enjoyed using the linking cubes to make different fall pictures.
After making their picture,
they had to write down how many linking cubes it took to make the picture.
They were also busy adding leaves with partners.
They even learned to paint with a partner! Each pair had to work together to equal a total of 6 splotches.
Another rainy day couldn't stop our smiles...
We were working together to make these words out of leaves.
If they had the letter we needed they "blew" it to me.
They created quite the wind to blow the leafy letters to me!
Once we had all the letters, we put it together to read the word.
Mrs Drury took the kids in the hall to do some reading AND exercising!
The kids had to run, skip, hop, to find the matching letter sound fall trees.
In the afternoon the kids enjoyed painting their own fall trees.
They used q-tips for paint brushes!
They turned out to be quite the masterpieces!
Wednesday started off with another fun time with Mrs. Crumrine!
The kids LOVED practicing high, medium, and low pitch with instruments.
The sun FINALLY came out, so we ventured out on a leaf hunt!
The kids had SO much fun just running
and playing in the leaves.
They also found some very interesting leaves!
We went on our special leaf hunt.
We were putting the leaves together to make words!
In the afternoon, we were working on doing some leaf investigations.
They described their leaf and measured their leaf.
Our week wasn't quite done...
Mrs. Helmkamp led our chapel this week.
She created a thankful tree that looked like a cross! You can find it in the hallway and can add more thankful leaves to the tree!
Back in the classroom we were busy playing a leaf adding game.
These children were in my backyard catching leaves. We had to figure out how many more leaves we needed to make sure everyone caught a leaf.
While the grown-ups had a chance to vote this week, we were busy voting for our favorite letter!
Each kid went to the voting booth and voted for their favorite letter.
We narrowed it down to our top 5 favorite letters. The kids will find out the final results on Monday!
We were busy matching these leaf pictures
to the correct letter tree.
The letter tree had to match the beginning sound of the picture.
This group was busy sorting letters to the correct basket.
The letters had different fonts making it a little challenging.
Mrs. Donner was back to help us with another fun project!
First the kids had to choose a leaf.
Next they folded the leaf.
Then they went outside to see how far their leaf would fly!
They LOVED this activity!
To finish the day, the kids painted their memory verse art.
These turned into beautiful masterpieces.
REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS!
Philippians 4:4
We were ready to go for a FUN Friday gym class...
The kids practiced stacking cup on some special mats.
Then they were all set for some stacking cup relay races!
These kids LOVED this activity!
My favorite part was hearing them cheer for each other!
YAY! What a great start to our day!
For Jesus Time, we headed outside to act out our story of the Israelites entering the Promised Land.
We marched our way to the Promise Land.
The Jordan River couldn't stop the Israelites!
We carefully crossed the river, and 12 Israelites picked up some stones.
We placed those stones on our altar to remind us of the WONDERS that God has done!
For math we went to the "fall store" and picked out some items.
The next step was to put them on our ten frame.
A partner went back to the store to add to our collection.
We had to make sure we reached the "magic" number.
They also enjoyed playing this stacking cup word game.
They took turns picking out a cup and reading the word (or letter) on the cup.
Then they stacked it up on top of their team tower.
Each team worked together to make a tower.
With every cup that got stacked,
the excitement grew!
They had a BLAST creating their own pictures out of fall items.
Look at this lovely leaf lady!
Here is an ocean scene!
We finished the day by measuring some fall items with linking cubes.
LEAVE it to us to find more FALL adventures next week...
