We were searching for lots of adventures this week...
We found a lot of talented people to chat with about their jobs!
Arrr... Matey! We were busy with -ar words!
If they tried to steal my treasure (picked a word with -ar)...
They had to walk the plank!
Sometimes they got a little wet!
We LOVED this game!
They also had to walk the plank to steal my treasure!
They could only pick up the coin that I called out and leave the others behind (without falling!)
Mrs. Boettcher stopped by to talk about seeds and plants!
Normally we see her in the kitchen cooking but she is also a florist!
The kids LOVED talking to her about seeds and plants. She even made a flower change colors!
A treasure box showed up in our classroom in the afternoon.
The kids had to guess how many coins were left in the box after they saw how many were taken.
They wrote down their guess before the treasure was returned.
These pirates were being very kind and giving away their treasure.
The kids even got to go on a treasure hunt
looking for "X marks the spot".
The kids ended up on a pirate ship with treasure!
On Tuesday we found out...

We had fun making sentences with the hidden words on the boxes.
The first person got the sentence and read it to the group.
Then each teammate took a turn finding the next word in the sentence.

When they were done, they inspected it and made sure it was correct.
The kids also had fun creating words with our letter cubes.
Once they made a word, they started creating!
We had a very fun visitor stop by.
Cody's uncle stopped by to talk about his job. He is a "money protector".
He taught the kids a lot of fun things about money.
They even got to do a little shopping!
More box adventures in the afternoon!
The kids had to read the directions and follow what they said to do to the box. .
Of course the best part was going in the box!
Big boxes are SO fun!
The kids also found out how much fun building with boxes is!
Who needs presents, just give your kids a box for their birthdays!
We also read this wonderful book about a worry box. It is such a fantastic book, so we created our own worry boxes. The kids each made one and should have taken it home Thursday.
Wednesday we celebrated church workers by dressing up as one!
Look it's Mr. Debrick!
Here is Mrs. Holtz.

A pastor showed up too!
Mrs. McBroom and Luke dressed like Mr. Maddick!
The kids were raising their hands and their numbers to help at the "Cooking Show"!
Miss Julia was back, and she brought her friend Miss Betty!
They taught the kids about CAPACITY.
The kids had a blast and can't wait for another show!
In gym we were busy doing animal relays.
The kids were zig zagging zebras.
Some lame dogs showed up too!

We even had some sea turtles show up!
Can you guess what these animals are?
You may see a few of these animals show up at your house!
Mrs. Crumrine was back with the drums!
We had so much fun in music class this year!
We were blessed to celebrate Levi's birthday with a special visit from this parents!
Levi's mom read this HILARIOUS book!
It was a great way to end our day.
Mrs. Helmkamp led our chapel this week!
She spoke to us in different languages to remind us of Pentecost.
Then a big gush of wind came and flames.
Thank you for your generosity to support our church workers.
We even found a few familiar faces at chapel!
Back in the classroom, the rain couldn't stop our farm fun.
The kids did great with these tractor word puzzles.
The kids were matching up beginning sounds on the farm.
We even used a tractor to drive some grassy letters to feed the cows.
Part of our church worker adventures, was thanking Pastor Rouland.
Then we headed up to chat with Mr. Thoelke. He is Zion's music coordinator.
He gave us our own personal concert.
The kids couldn't help but smile
Some of the songs they even knew.
We absolutely loved chatting with Mr. Thoelke!
and hugs before we said good-bye to Mr. Thoelke.
Then it was time to wish Miss Julia a happy birthday.
Miss Julia works in the lunch room. She turns 30 in the June!
Our day wasn't quite done...
We had fun reviewing 3-d shapes with a special shape snack.
Creating with 3-D shapes was also on our agenda.
We ended our day celebrating Ari's birthday.
His mom read a GREAT book about a duck driving a tractor!
Our last Friday together and of course we started off DANCING!
We were busy looking for zoo animals.
The kids lifted up their cages to see where their zoo animal was hiding.
Each zoo animal had a word attached for the kids to read.
These sight word zoo animals escaped from the zoo!
The kids had to write down as many as they could find.
We had fun interviewing my brother via FACETIME.
They each had a chance to ask him a question about being a coach of a college basketball team.
He was very impressed with the questions the kids came up with!
A vet also came to join us!
The kids had a blast learning more about her job!
They also listened to their own heartbeats.
A little turtle popped out to say hi too!
The kids were also VERY brave and held some cicadas!
What a fun visit!
Back in the classroom we were busy making our own zoos!
First the kids had to decide what animals were going to be at their zoo.
The customer then told the ticket master what animal they would like to see.
The ticket taker handed them the correct ticket.
Then it was off to the show!
Our busy week has come to an end,
but we have a few more adventures to finish out our year...
