We kicked off the week with MUSIC MONDAY!
These boys wore their VBS shirts!
Can you guess the music genre?
We started off the day playing our Bible verse songs with instruments.
After recess we made our own instruments with Mrs. Helmkamp and...
had a DANCE PARTY!
We found some familiar faces who were busy dancing too!
For math we were playing our way to 100!
We wrote our own song first.
Each note was worth 10 counts, so we counted by 10's as we played.
Next up we read one of my favorite Elephant and Piggie books! So much laughter filled the room!
Our reading stations were MUSIC to my ears!
The kids had a list of cvc words and had to find the instrument that had the matching word.
They played the matching instrument as they spelled the word.
They ran back and crossed the word off of their list.
Our musical day wasn't done yet...
In the afternoon we were busy listening to "Peter and the Wolf".
The kids listened to the music while illustrating the story.
They had to listen very carefully
to figure out which character was doing the "talking".
And then... it was time for our MASKED READER!
The kids asked if she like pickles!
"Is your favorite color pink?"
Then they asked if she liked music!
They figured out it was Mrs. Crumrine...
Their MUSIC teacher!
She read to them one of her favorite children's books.
We just LOVE our Masked Readers.
For our Musical Monday we were also busy writing our own song.
One friends called out the numbers to play.
Another friend picked out the right bells that matched the numbers called.
Then it was time to play the beautiful song they wrote together.
It was a MARVELOUS MUSIC Monday!
Next up was Tasty Tuesday!
We were determined to serve up a lot of fun adventures!
Luke was serving up food at the ballpark!
We even had a ketchup bottle show up! :)
What did we order today? A lot of learning adventures...
with oodles and oodles of SMILES!
At our first reading station we were busy taking orders.
The customer picked a CVC word plate
and told them what they wanted to eat.
The chef had to go find the food that matched their order.
We also had a special sandwich shop going.
One friend delivered part of a sandwich to another friend who had to match up the sandwich.
Then we ventured outside for a tasty treat!
Each child made their own snow cone from Kona Ice!
Thank you PTL for this special treat!
We finished our day making more sandwiches.
This time we had to pay for the sandwiches.
Each item on the sandwich costed 10 cents.
The kids practiced counting by tens and rang up the price.
We made some pretty interesting sandwiches!
We were sorry to see this tasty day end, but we knew more adventures were headed our way...
Work Together Wednesday was a blast!
We worked together to try out this new game called FLING IT!
Each team tossed the ball in the air using a net.
Then they had to try to catch the ball before it hit the ground!
Ms. Steinbacher led our chapel. She reminded the kids that there are so many things they CAN do. The most important thing they can do, is telling people all about Jesus!
Thanks again for your generosity!
We played several reading games that had us working together.
The kids also enjoyed working together to use these word blocks to create all kinds of fun stories!
Each building material had a hidden word on it!
The kids also enjoyed working together to play different games.
the kids got together and came up with a plan of what mural they wanted to paint.
They did a great job of compromising!
The kids put their thinking caps on to design something using the wooden planks and tubes.
It was so windy they decided to use the house to stabilize their creations.
Check out what we want to be when we grow up...
Hesleigh wanted to be me, a teacher (I want to be a "sleep expert" when I grow up!).
We have a whole team of baseball players....
Including the coach!
A couple of fancy artists.
Two gymnasts.
Brody wants to work for his dad. :)
Whatever they end up growing up to be... I know God has BIG plans for this group! :)
Thursday we were off to be KINDNESS NINJAS!
We snuck into the 4th grade classroom and delivered a special treat
and a secret note!
The 4th graders had been taking achievement tests all week long, so we wanted to surprise them with a little bit of encouragement to make it through their last test. Where will the Kindness Ninjas strike next???
We had a very special visitor join us Thursday!
It was Lolli the clown!
She definitely brought smiles to our faces!
She did a few magic tricks too!
Check out the giant rainbow she made appear!
Mrs. Helmkamp even joined the show!
We had a GREAT time with Lolli the Clown!
It was a wonderful way to kick off our ARTSY Thursday adventures!
We also got to wear our favorite colors!
In the afternoon we headed to the gym.
We played a little newspaper ball with the 8th graders!
Mr. Marolf was there to give us a few pointers.
The 8th graders got a chance to bat too!
While one group was playing ball...
The other group was busy reading.

We love our new 8th grade buddies!
We designed our own paint brushes
and then tested them out!
We discovered making paint brushes is a little tricky!
We ended up with some fun ISH paintings though!
Don't go yet! Our week wasn't quite done...
We had some moms come to school.
A bunch of dads came too.
Even a few pets showed up!
Family Friday brought a librarian to our school.
She read to us some great books about family.
Back in the classroom we had a mixed up family that needed to be put back together!
Each child in the group had a letter hiding under their person.
They had to work together
to put the letters together to make a word.
We ended our week with another fabulous Friday Reader!
Quinn's dad came and read two HILARIOUS books!
We just couldn't contain our silliness any longer!
As always our Friday Reader made our week complete!
