YAY! Hurray for a SUPER week!
We started off the week making some GLITTERY Gg's.
They turned out quite glamorous!
More pumpkin fun popped up!
After they pulled out a card they covered it with a fall squishy.
Then it was time to look inside some pumpkins.
We couldn't wait to peek inside!
The little one we discovered had little seeds.
When we pulled the top of the medium sized one, the kids' eyes POPPED out with amazement.
Then it was time to dig inside.
Some kids preferred to use a spoon.
Some kids even pulled out handfuls of the pulp!
Each kid had a little different reaction!
The kids LOVED this activity!
We started off Tuesday, with a very special chapel offering.
Zion collected over 505 super hero toys for Friends of Kids with Cancer.
Thank you SO much for your generosity!
Mrs. Aslin led chapel with the help of some junior high boys. She reminded us that God's love and forgiveness is a gift that can't be taken away.
Back in the classroom, the kids were working hard
to put together pumpkin puzzles!
These special puzzles had words on them.
Once they had it put together they began stretching the sounds out.
They were SO excited to discover they could read words!
I even scrambled up the pumpkins, and they had the challenge of finding the letters that spelled their word.
They did so GREAT with this!
Another pumpkin game, was the pumpkin patch game.
The farmer was busy delivering pumpkin seeds.
The customers sat on the tractor and waited for their seeds.
Once they got their seed,
they brought it back to the "garden" to see which pumpkin belonged to them. Then they wrote it down.
We dug into the pumpkin again.
This time when the kids grabbed the letter they wrote it down in the pumpkin "goo"!
Finally it was time for our FIELD TRIP!
It turned out to be a beautiful day!
kept us movin', grovin', and reading.
Then we went on a scavenger hunt, looking for the BIGGEST pumpkin
an odd pumpkin, and a little pumpkin.
We also found a living creature!
Then it was time for a wagon ride!
x
Of course we couldn't leave without picking out a pumpkin!
It was a wonderful day filled with wonderful memories!
We kicked off gym class running like the FLASH!
Then we jumped and smashed like the HULK.
Next up was flying like SUPERMAN.
We ended with SPIDERMAN crawls.
Finally it was time for our game... GLOB TAG!
Music class brought some more fun singing with Mrs. Crumrine (they LOVE the moose song!).
They finished class with a fun pumpkin song!
Our monster pointers were back!
This time they helped us find the letters on the alphabet chart.
Then we used them to trace the letter in our pumpkin goo.
The last step was finding the letter in the classroom and tracing it.
One of our stations was making a beautiful fall globe!
It turned out amazing!
Ring toss was fun game the kids enjoyed outside.
We also spent time making cards for our homebound friends.
The kids had fun spinning...
and then pinning the eyeball on the monster.
Oh so close!
A huge thank you to everyone who came to help out!
We couldn't have partied with you!
