Rejoice in the Lord Always!

YAY!  We were ready for another great week!
Our week was filled with friendship and fun.

After reading another "Old Lady" story,
The old lady
who swallowed some rhymes was back.

The kids LOVED trying to feed her

but sometimes she scared them

with her loud burps!

She also had them giggling
and grinning from ear to ear.

They can't wait for her to return again!
The kids had a blast using Legos to build letters.

The kids were hopping their way through fall

as they practiced adding signs of fall.

They counted five pinecones and five acorns made 10.

What else makes 10?  7 ginko leaves and 3 pumpkins.

We really enjoyed this special book called Leaf Man.
It really inspired us to create our our leaf stories.

Can you guess what these leaf creations are?

Do you see the cat?

Here is a fish!

The kids had a great time making these!

"A Leaf Man's gotta go where the wind blows!"
We did a little campaigning of our own this week.
These are some campaigns you won't get tired of hearing!  :)

Then we voted for our favorite letter.
We even did a few campaign speeches.

We narrowed it down to 5 different letters.
The final results will be revealed next week!

Look for your child's campaign poster in their Friday folders.  Ask them why they voted for that letter?

We were busy looking for leaves that "blew away".
from our trees.

We had to find the leaf that had the same beginning sound as the letter on our tree.

We had a very special gym class...

Mrs. Steinbacher teaches P.E. for the older grades and wanted to teach the kids all about Sport Stacking (stacking cups).

The kids all had a chance to practice stacking cups.

They practiced making two towers as quickly as they could.

Then they took them down as quickly as they could.

When they were finished they yelled out...

POPCORN!

Then it was time to get moving!

The kids did stacking cups... relay style!

They ran from stack to stack

turning them into towers.

Then they moved on to...

 making GIANT towers!

We LOVED spending time with Mrs. Steinbacher!

Next up was bells with Mrs. Coad!

The kids worked hard to stay focused and learn this new skill.

Stay tuned...

We have something special planned!

We read the book called Squirrel's Busy Day.  The squirrel lost all of his acorns, but his friends help him find them all!
We worked hard to help our squirrels find their acorns too

by matching the capital letters to lowercase letters.

Then they had to write the letter in playdoh when they matched it up.

Mrs. Rivera took the kids outside to find some hidden acorns.
They had to run
and find the acorns under the bowls.

Once they found their acorn, they had to write down the letter that was hiding on their acorn.

It was the perfect day to go looking for acorns!
In the afternoon we enjoyed working with all of our "fall treasures" that kids brought in.

We used our balance to see which sign of fall was the heaviest.

They couldn't believe how heavy some of the items were!
They loved working with all of their special fall treasures!

We played another missing acorn game!

This time we were working with numbers.

The kids had to guess which number was missing!

Mrs. Mudd led our chapel this week.

She reminded us to be thankful for all things, even old batteries,
dirty shoelaces, and empty soda bottles!

Thank you for your generosity again!  So far we are up to  $618.97 to buy turkeys!
Back in the classroom the kids were busy making words with acorns!

They placed their acorn on the letter mat to see if it made a word.

They loved figuring out what word they made!

Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by this week.

This time she brought a  little friend... BEEBOT!

Beebot helped the squirrels find their acorns.

They had to program Beebot to get him to the right acorn.

Next up was building acorn carriers.

The kids loved designing unique acorn carriers.

Some kids really got into their part of being a "squirrel".  :)

Some acorn carriers were small.

While others made giant towers to hold their acorns.

They also worked hard matching acorn tops and bottoms.

This group worked together to line them all up!

The kids also enjoyed painting their memory verse this week!

They used all kinds of circles to create stamps.

Some even found ways to turn the circles into smiley faces!

We enjoyed every minute of the beautiful weather this week!

The twist in the weather couldn't stop our fun!

It's FRIDAY!

Time to sing some praises!!!!

Sing LALA!

Then it was time to do a little more praising

as we acted out our Bible story.

We headed to the promise land!

Our "ark of the covenant" led the way.

We marched back to the classroom

and found the "water" pushed back.  We gathered 12 small stones and built a monument.
"God is great!  God is good...

He kept His promise like He said He would!"

After reading this silly story...

We set to work collecting turkey feathers!

One student pulled out a turkey  feather and described the letter to their  friends.
They had to guess what letter is was by writing it down on their turkey paper.

They also enjoyed a game called, "GOBBLE GOBBLE".

If they had that turkey, they put it on their board.

If they got the "gobble gobble" card, they had to put all their cards back!\

We ended our week with another WONDERFUL Friday reader!

The kids LOVED hearing the story about a special friend name Forky!  :)

It was the perfect way to end our week.

I wonder what AMAZING things God has planned for us next week...
