The Positively Perfect Week

We were all stacked up for another great week!

We had a positively, perfect week reviewing the letter P!

We made the pig drive to words that start with P!
When we pushed him down, he started moving!
 He drove to Pigeon,

a giant pencil,
a penguin

and a pillow!
We had to be careful,
sometimes the pig drove a little crazy
And ended up driving to the bear or heart!
The kids loved playing this silly game!

Some more pigs came to help us with our sentences.

We tried to keep them from escaping!

Every time I said a word in a sentence, they moved a piggie forward.
Then they had to figure out how many words were in my sentence.
We gathered for chapel in the Commons this week.

Mrs. Adams, our church secretary, led our chapel this week.
She reminded us that in BIG ways and small ways we can always be thanking God!

We were busy flipping pancakes in the afternoon.

We had to close our eyes

while the chef flipped a pancake.

We had to guess which number of pancake got flipped.

We LOVED it when we were right!

We also had fun playing a POLKA DOT game.

We flipped a card to see how many polka dots (a.k.a magnets) we needed.

Some kids even made patterns with them.

Then we checked to see if our partner made the same design as us.
It was fun to see the different designs they came up with.
The day definitely left us with a smile!
Wednesday brought more fun in the gym!

We played line tag one more time.

This time we were tip toeing AND

dancing to tag our friends!
Another great music class with Mrs. Coad.

This week we pretended to play the drums

using cups for our drums.

Then she showed us a real bongo drum.

They each got a turn to play the drum.

They are getting really good at keeping the tempo!

Back in the classroom, we heard a silly story called PANCAKES PANCAKES!

Some kids in the story made a REALLY big mess when they made their pancakes!

We were hoping we would be a little bit neater when we made ours!  :)

Each child got to add an ingredient to our yummy pancakes.

Then of course we had to stir it up!
We weren't so sure how they would taste...
While we waited to have our pancakes, we served up another fun alphabet game.

We were doing flips for this fun game!

An alphabet pancake was placed on the flipper.
The "chef" had to say what letter they were serving.

They had to flip the pancake over to see if they were right!

Watch out

for FLYING pancakes!

Once they figured out what letter was on their pancake,

the whole crew covered that letter up on their alphabet board.
Who knew flipping pancakes was so exciting!
It sure made us hungry though!

The kids also had a great time creating with popsicle sticks

and paper plates.

Some kids  decided to sort the popsicle sticks.

While some kids even made pictures.  Do you see the cat?
After reading If You Give a Pig a Pancake,
We lined up our piggies again!

This time we were making sure each piggie got a pancake.

We didn't want any piggies to go away hungry!

Finally it was time for us to enjoy our pancakes!

The kids all LOVED them!

There were a few requests for syrup though!  :)

We finished the letter P with a little partying!
A pig wearing a wig even taught us to do a jig at the party!

We also had fun with balloons at the party.

We had to pat the balloon
as we pushed a "P" word to me.

We also had fun hiding words under the party hat!

When we picked up the hat,

the other party goers had to write whatever letter was hiding under the hat.
The kids were also busy passing out "invitations" to the party.

They had to deliver the letter to the correct letter.
They had to hurry so no one would miss the party!

Mr. Debrick even joined in on the fun!

We had to pick out something that started with P.
And put it on the parachute.

P,p,p... PERFECT!

It was so fun to do parachute with our principal!
At our BEACH PARTY, we were busy putting our beach items in groups.
Our party wasn't over yet!
This hilarious book was a perfect way to end our day.

It inspired us to do a little more partying with this balloon game.

First we had to roll the dice

to see how many times you had to hit the balloon without it dropping.

The kids had  BLAST playing this game!

I was impressed with how well they worked together!

They were so excited when they completed their challenge!  :)

Next up was pin the polka dots on the pig.
They had to close their eyes and try to put the polka dots on the pig.

When they opened their eyes they counted to see how many actually made it on the pig.

Then the whole team had to write down how many polka dots made it on the pig.
We couldn't leave the part without snacks!

The kids made a pattern with some pretzels.

Then they had the challenge of trying some pickles.
Some kids were a little nervous to try them.
Everybody was very brave and tried at least a tiny bite.

Some kids did not care for the pickles at all!

Other kids loved the pickles

and wanted more!
Our party was a perfect way to celebrate the letter P!

Let's see what we will be cooking up next week!
