A Perfect Week!

Take a peek...
at this positively, perfect week!

We weren't just hanging around.
We were working hard with all kinds of learning adventures!
Pastor Rouland led our chapel this week.

It was all about PEACE and how perfect peace can only come from Jesus.

Back in the classroom, we were working on finding different dot cards.
The kids worked with their partner to find the matching number on their number lines.

The kids also love playing a dice game!

They rolled the dice.

Then counted to see how many dots were on it.
Sometimes it was a number we liked.

Sometimes we just kept rolling the same number over and over again!

Then they made a dot design of their own.
They checked to see if their friends had the same idea or if it was different.

Everyone came up with some very clever dot designs!
We were back playing line tag one more time this week.

This time the kids could run, skip, hop, or tip-toe.
The kids loved playing line tag!

In music class Mrs. Coad taught the kids about rhythm and drums.
They each got a cup to practice using like a drum.
Watch out! We may have a few future drummers in the group.
We were also busy flipping pancakes this week!

There was a picture of something on their pancakes.

They had to say what their picture started with.
Next they "flipped" their pancake over

to see if they guessed the right letter.
If they were right, they marked the letter with a special jewel.

We have quite a few amazing pancake flippers!
More flipping action  with this fun pancake game.

They had to find words that started with Pp

and put them on their plates.

The second round they had to pick a pancake with a picture on it
and put it on the pan
with the right letter.
We also practiced matching numbers

as we had a pretend picnic and "set the table".

3 plates needed 3 pancakes and 3 forks.

We were already to make our very own pancakes.

Everybody was able to add a special ingredient into our pancakes.

The kids could hardly wait to try the pancakes.
After reading If You Give a Pig a Pancake,
it was  finally time to use our sense of taste.

SOOO... yummy!
We even made the pancakes look like pigs!
If you give a kindergartner a pancake,

she will want some syrup to go with it!

These pancakes definitely brought some smiles to the kindergartners' faces.
The sun kept shining and the fun adventures kept coming...

Polka dots popped up in our room!

The kids had fun making polka dot P's!
They also enjoyed making name puzzles.
Their names were all cut into pieces.
They had to carefully put the pieces together and practice spelling each letter of their name.

Once they figured out their own name,

they worked hard to make their friends' names.
They were very proud and excited when they figured out their friend's name.

Painting our own giant puzzle pieces was also on the agenda.

These kids just love painting with different tools to create different textures.
We will put each of their smiling faces into the middle of the puzzle to create a MASTERPIECE!

Our week wasn't quite finished...
We were all set to PARTY with the letter P to finish off our week!

We practiced our memory verse

by passing the balloon

every time we said a word from the memory verse.

The kids did great with this game!
Principal Debrick showed up to our party!

We played a little parachute with things that start with P.

The kids had to pick out something that started with P to put on the parachute.

As they shook it in the air the made the "p" sound.

The kid had fun with a party hat game too!
The kids had to close their eyes.
One of the kids was the "teacher" and hid letters under the hats.

When they opened their eyes,
they had to say the name of the letter that was hiding under their hat.
The kids LOVED having pretzels at their party.

Before they could hit the pretzels
they had to make letters with the pretzels.
They discovered there are certain letters you can't make with pretzel sticks!
We also did a little pickle tasting.

We tried some sour ones

and some sweet pickles.

Some did not like the sweet.

Some kids did!

Others liked the sour pickles.
Some kids just wanted to smell them!
And use their sense of touch.

Some kids just didn't like pickles!
We had one more party game...
The kids had to take turns rolling the giant dice.

Whatever number they rolled we had to make up a sentence with that many words in it.

They we had to hit the balloon for each word in the sentence.
The kids did a GREAT job with this game!
We definitely had a GREAT time partying with the letter P!

Hang on...
for more adventures next week!
