It was a week full of sunshine and smiles!
A bunch of pirates showed up
to help us work on the AR sound...
We were looking for treasure under our sight words.
Each child had a chance to be the "captain" and pick out some treasure.
The captain hid the treasure under the sight word cups.
The other pirates had to guess where the treasure was hidden.
We also worked on creating -ar words.
Once the kids made a word, they covered it up with some treasure.
Of course we spent some time adding up all of our treasure!
We were looking for more fun adventures
as we worked on treasure maps
and designed our own pirate hats!
Then these crazy pirates went on a treasure hunt looking for -ar words.
X MARKS the spot...
for a great adventure!
We also had a lot of fun with shapes this week!
They used cubes to create some wonderful creations.
Cones and spheres made for an exciting game!
The kids had to call out a popcorn word.
Their partner had to kick the sphere

towards the correct matching cone.
GOAL!
They also hid popcorn words under shapes.
Making 3-D shapes out of play-dough and sticks
was a little trickier than expected.
The kids were also surprised at the masterpieces they could create with shapes!
They used the shapes to stamp designs.
Some used the shapes to create pictures.
Not only were shapes good for painting with,
they were also great for eating!
From cubes
to cones
We had it all!
We had another great chapel service.
Our message was about Mary and Martha.
Mrs. Haun was our leader.
She had some special help from Mrs. Rouland and Mrs. Lohman.
Another special baptismal birthday!
Back in the classroom we were working on making some music.
The kids picked out four numbers and wrote them down.
Then if they had the bell that matched that number, they rang it.
They made beautiful songs!
They also worked on a measuring instruments.
The kids had SO much fun building with shapes.
They never cease to amaze me
with the creations they come up with!
Bee-bot was back to help us learn about different jobs people have.
After reading a clue
the kids had to program Bee-Bot
to go to the place that person works.
The kids worked on measuring the animals
and also weighing animals.
The kids also did a great job of creating different animals with pattern blocks.
Some even made amazing houses for their animals
and made the name of their animal!
Real animals also showed up!
A vet came to talk to the kids about her job.
But she also brought some special friends.
This sweet dog actually fetches kleenix!
She also brought a chicken.
And a little guinea pig came too.
Our day ended with a sweet treat in the sun.
Blue tongues
and smiles...
It was a great day!
We were hanging in there for one more day of adventures.
Our nurse Miss Ruth stopped by to talk to us about her job.
The kids did a great job of asking questions!
We are finishing up our A-Z masterpieces with a striped zebra.
It was a little tricky to paint with toothpicks and q-tips!
It is plain to see...
We had a beautiful week to enjoy fun, friendships, and learning!
