It's Rhyme Time!

It was a beautiful week filled with sunshine and fun!

We practiced writing in rice this week.
The kids rolled an alphabet dice and then wrote the letter they rolled.

Rice was a great way to practice writing!

We had a special visitor stop by this week...
The kids were excited to see him!
He made a few messes...

Helped us with our pattern block creations

We discovered Pastor Rouland is quite the card player

but he doesn't have much of a poker face!

The kids were sad to see him go.

Read Across America brought  some fun adventures!

We were busy doing a lot of rhyming

as we searched the room for a friend who rhymed with us.

The kids also had a great time reading Dr. Seuss books.

The kids had fun ring tossing popcorn words too.

It was a challenging game...
but the kids were up for the challenge!
Hop on Pop inspired these hoppers

to hop to the right rhyming words.

The kids were hopping and popping!

The kids were also busy with truffula  trees.

These little truffula tree tops were great for making patterns with and so yummy!

Our Hop on Pop adventures continued...
after the kids read the number word
they had to hop to the correct number.

These are some happy hoppers!
It might have been "raining" in our classroom...

but outside the sun was shining

and the kids were soaking up every minute of it.

They had a great time playing Rhyming Red Rover.

Each kid had a word they held up
The other team called out a word that rhymed with one of the words.
If they had the word,
they had to run to the other team.

YAY! The kids had so much fun playing.
Our fun wasn't quite done.

Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by

to help us with a special Dr. Seuss challenge.

Once they figured out the clues, the kids found a special surprise!
Another fun rhyming game... called Whack a Rhyme!

Cards were flipped over until someone heard a rhyme.
Once they heard a rhyme, they had to "whack" it!
Whoville also showed up!

The kids did a great job designing their own Whovilles.

We will see what Seussy adventures we get mixed up in next week.
