Red Ribbon Week

We LOVED all the fun adventures this week!
The rainy, dreary days couldn't stop us!

Red Ribbon Week reminded us to BEE healthy!

We talked a lot about making healthy choices

and taking care of the wonderful bodies that God has given to us.

We also talked a lot about fire safety.

We played a number game where the FIRE CHIEF hid a number.

The fire fighters had to figure out how many fires to put out.

Another firefighter game we played

we had to match the firefighters with the right helmets.

Once we found the helmets
we had to find the right house to save!

We were back for more fun on Tuesday!
After reading the story Alphabet Rescue by Audrey Wood,

The kids made their own alphabet cities.

Some kids even made firetrucks so they could save their cities.

Their cities were AMAZING!

Wednesday was  PEACEFUL day...okay maybe we should say it was a COLORFUL day???

Even some tie-dyed leggings showed up!

Mrs. Coad came and played the violin for the kids.
We had a great time investigating our pumpkins.

We started off by weighing them.

Then they measured them with linking cubes.

The long, curvy stems made it a little tricky to measure sometimes.
They did a great job of figuring out ways to measure!
Their favorite thing to do...
was to check to see if their pumpkin floated.

They were SO excited that ALL of their pumpkins floated!

SOOOO... we decided to try out our BIG pumpkin

Surely that wouldn't float...
but it did!

We finished our week in style...

with our HARVEST PARTY!
We took a little walk before our party and found Mr. Debrick in his office!

After watching the video of Spookley the Square Pumpkin

The kids worked hard on designing shapes
and faces for their own SPOOKLEY pumpkins.
They made one-eyed pirate pumpkins.
Happy birthday pumpkins popped up too!
Each pumpkin was as unique as these amazing kindergartners!
Next up was the ring toss game.
The kids tried their best to toss the ring onto their own pumpkin's stem.
Each kid had their own method to get the ring on the stem.

It took a lot of concentration.
We had the lean in method

the smile and toss method

and the aim and fire method.

They worked so hard a stem got broken off!

Next up was decorating their pumpkins.

The kids used markers to make their pumpkin fancy.

The kids also had fun digging into the big pumpkin.

It was very slimy!
They had to pull out 5 seeds.

Some kids LOVED how it felt!
Others weren't so sure.

We also had fun making fizzy pumpkins.

The kids waited with excitement to see what would happen to the orange pumpkin ball.

Bubbles went fizzing everywhere!

They were AMAZED at how the pumpkin changed.

Some thought it was like a bath bomb!

It was a great day and a great week filled lots of smiles!
We can't wait to see how these pumpkins turn out!
