We were all geared up for a tough week!
SO... we put our game faces on and prepared for SUPERbowl MONDAY!
The kids had a great time playing our flag football game.
They huddled up
and decided what words they were going to grab...
Then they ran
and grabbed their friends' flags.
Each flag had a word on it.
They had to put the words together in the right order to make a sentence.
There were a few fumbles along the way.
But they worked together
to score a TOUCHDOWN!
They had quite the touchdown dances!!! :)
They also had good sportsmanship and said, "GOOD GAME!" when we were done.
The fun kept bubblin' over
as we had a very FUN
but messy art project this week! SORRY ABOUT THAT!!!!
But the results were AMAZING!
We used the bubbles to paint hearts and our new name tags.
We also had chapel this week with Pastor Rouland.
He brought his friend Gary to help us learn more about the colors of the church year.
Happy hands showed up in our classroom
as we bought some silly houses.
The "fun house" cost 80 cents and the "kid house" cost 90 cents.
The kids are super shoppers
are now proud owners of some silly houses.
The kids also had a great time designing their own houses.
They used some giant wooden planks
to create some amazing structures.
They are so good at working together.
Not sure I would want to live their houses, but they did a great job of putting it together!
Our house building challenges continued...
as the kids took boxes and other recycled materials
to create houses.
They worked REALLY hard on these houses.
Once again it was so awesome to see their creativity in action.
They can't wait to share them.
They also had a HOME DEPOT challenge.
Each team received a "blue print".
They had to find the right blocks
and then put the blocks together to make the right word.
They had a great time!
The inspectors came by to make sure they did it correctly.
Can we build it?
YES WE CAN!
Mrs. Helmkamp also stopped by this week.
She helped the kids "fly" to their houses!
We took a break from our house building to meet with Mrs. Steinbacher.
She gave us a very special challenge... A HEART CHALLENGE!
The kids even had a chance to practice a little.
We already have some awesome jumpers in here!
Watch out... we are hopping our way right through FIT FEBRUARY.
The house building fun continued back in our classroom.
The kids designed more "dream houses".
Some even gave their houses landscaping!
Graham crackers and icing???
Nope. These are house building materials.
It was a challenge to see if they could get their house to stand.
It was quite the challenge!
Everyone had a different idea on how to get it to stand.
And it was very tempting to eat the building materials!
However the result was
SWEET SUCCESS!
Don't be surprised if they ask you to "build" a house! Yummy fun!
A surprise baby shower also popped up this week!
The kids made me a baby alphabet book, gave me some "baby advice", and guessed if the baby would be a boy or a girl.
They even chose some baby names! Mrs. Haun also put her vote in!
It looks like they are guessing it will be a girl!
I also was SO surprised
to open up ALL of my wonderful gifts!
Thank you SO MUCH for your kindness and generosity. I am so blessed!
Another SURPRISE ended our week... It was our Friday Reader.
The kids were as quiet as mice as they listened to her story! It was another GREAT story!
What a week! From sunshine to snow we had it all! I wonder what next week will bring???
