Hang on it was a short week
jammed packed with creepy, crawly fun.
Playing "Pin the Spider on the Web"
helped us practice our letters.
That friendly little spider also challenged us to read words.
The kids did a great job of using their "spidey" senses.
The kids also worked on their sorting skills.
They came up with their own sorting rule.
Some sorted by colors. Some sorted by size. Others by button holes.
Our spider fun continued with creating webs.
We used a new math tool called geoboards to create a spiderweb.
Then the kids set to work creating their own spiderwebs.
First they made an outline of a web with a black crayon.
Then they filled the web in with color.
Spiders also helped us work on counting.
We played a couple of counting games with the spiders.
First the kids rolled the dice
to see how many spiders would climb up the spout.
Some were surprised at how many could climb up the water spout.
12 spiders could fit on the this water spout!
The kids also had fun feeding the spider.
It was a little tricky, but they got the hang of it!
We were also busy making alphabet soup!
The kids had a great time scooping up letters
and serving them to their friends.
The chefs had to put the recipes together.
The food inspectors double checked that the recipe was made correctly.
A recipe for success!
Our spider fun was done until we designed our own water spouts.
The kids did a great job of working together.
Then the spider had a chance to test it out making sure to land on each letter.
Chapel had us up and moving again this week!
Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by to lead chapel.
She interviewed some fun people at Zion to see what "Called to Care" means.
We discovered it means helping people!
We tiptoed our way through this week.
And worked really hard
but had a lot of fun adventures along the way.
We had LOTS of fun learning
and enjoying the beautiful weather!
As more signs of fall pop up,
we are excited to have fun with pumpkin adventures!
Hopefully we can fit all of the learning fun into the rest of this busy month!
