Lutheran Schools Week was one exciting week!
We kicked the week off with Tourist Day.
Funny how a lot of our favorite vacation spots were...
in warm, sunny places!
Crazy dress days weren't the only things we were enjoying this week.
We were also having fun with some animal folktales. First up was Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The kids matched up the baby bears to the right mama bears.
They also did a great job of acting the story out with bears
and creating homes for the bears.
Tuesday was Holiday Day!
This Holidaze left us full of smiles!
From Christmas
to St. Patrick's Day
we were dressed for some holiday fun!
We also kept our eye on the 100th day of school which was right around the corner.
So we kept busy getting ready for this special celebration.
We made a yummy 100 Day snack that we couldn't wait to eat! :)
And worked on balancing our 100 Day Show N' Share bags.
The best part of our day was visiting our prayer pals!
We had been waiting and waiting to go see them.
They LOVED our crazy outfits!
And we loved visiting with them.
We had SO much fun!
We had so many things to share with them.
As always they had some fun things to share with us too!
But we didn't just have stories to share...
The children also had a few jokes up their sleeves.
It was fun to watch them joking
and having a great time with their prayer pals.
It is amazing to see that these special people
are not just our prayer pals...
They have become our friends.
Wednesday was our 100th day of school!
These Zero Heroes hopped all the way to 100!
I can't believe we have been in school for 100 days!
My how time flies when you're having fun!
Our 100th day fun continued as we made our way to the church basement
for some PANCAKES!
Chris's Cakes was serving up more than just pancakes...
They were serving up
SMILES!
They were doing some AMAZING things with pancakes!
Our wonderful church staff served up some yummy help.
It was a yummy way to celebrate our 100th day.
The loved it so much, they didn't want to leave!
Before heading to chapel, we had a calm and cozy story about the 100th day of school.
Mr. Debrick led our special chapel.
It was about how God will always provide for us and take care us.
Back in the classroom we got right back to work.
The kids worked so hard putting together some scenery for their plays.
It was fun to watch their creativity and teamwork come to life!
In the afternoon our 100 day celebration continued with a special activity time.
Mrs. Aslin led the kids in 100 exercises
and painting 100 handprints,
which gave us 100 smiles!
Our 100 Day snack also brought smiles to our faces and filled our tummies too!
The kids worked really hard putting together a 100 bead necklace.
It was a great day of fun and celebrations!
Our 101st day of school brought in kids of ALL ages!
Our "babies" were photo bombed by Pastor Reitz!
Some kids showed up
along with some cool teenagers.
We also had some moms
and dads come to school.
And we can't forget the grandmas
and grandpas. A complete "CIRCLE of LIFE"!
We also enjoyed seeing the 7th graders version of 3 Billy Goats Gruff,
which inspired the children
as they worked on their plays.
They even designed some special props and costumes!
After reading a couple of version of The Three Little Pigs,
The kids set to work designing
houses for the little pigs.
They each had their own ideas as to how to make a sturdy structure.
Then they had to be the Big Bad Wolf
and try to blow their house down!
These kids are amazing builders!
We may have some future architects in the bunch!
We finished Thursday off by heading down to the gym for some volleyball
and DANCING!
Friday arrived with some spirited excitement as we celebrated SPORTS DAY!
We also discussed Groundhogs Day as we worked to help these groundhogs to find their shadows.
The kids also went outside
and found their shadows!
After some hard work and creative designing, it was time for the kids to perform their plays for their friends.
The first play was Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Our second play was a version of Aesep's Fable The Tortoise and the Hare.
Third up was the story of the 3 Little Pigs.
We rounded out of day of plays with 3 Billy Goats Gruff.
To finish off our exciting week, some BMX bikers rolled into our gym.
They were full of crazy tricks
and high flying adventures.
Some of their tricks were so amazing
the kids could hardly watch!
They nervously awaited the final trick...
They flipped upside down!
WOW! The kids good hardly believe it!!! :)
After the assembly, we headed outside with our groundhogs.
The kids checked to see if their groundhogs would see their shadows!
Then they voted and predicted if Phil the groundhog would see his shadow.
More kids thought he would NOT see his shadow! YAY! Come on SPRING!!!
WHAT A WEEK! We truly do LOVE being at Zion. :)
