All of the snow outside,
couldn't stop all of our fun from the inside
to the outside!
We started off our week sneaking up on Mrs. Schmidt
and surprising her!
We gave her a sack full of yummy treats and LOTS of hugs and smiles. :)
With all of the snow outside,
we decided to scoop up some fun
and enjoy the snow!
First challenge... learning how to walk on the snow!
It was so great to watch the kids playing in the snow.
They had such a great time!
The slide became more like a slip and slide!
The kids were making tracks with sticks
and with their feet.
They were rolling balls
and attempted to make a snowman.
These kids could have stayed outside in the snow all day!
Sooo... we brought the snow inside!
Practicing our letters became a lot more exciting
in the snow.
Later we checked to see which bowl would melt the quickest.
We also brought the snowy adventures inside by creating snowy pictures on our IPADS.
As cute as these snowmen were,
we wanted to make a real snowman!
We measured the snowman
and then checked to see how long it would take to melt.
By the end of the day the snowman was now down to 6 linking cubes.
Our snowman wasn't looking to good, but it was still standing!
Next up on our snowy adventures was building snowforts.
These weren't just any forts...
These were snowy WORD forts!
Learning is so COOL!
Painting with ice was also on our list of adventures this week.
Some preschool friends even stopped by
to join us on some of our adventures.
We had some fun visitors stop by this week too!
We loved spending the morning with some fun dads and papas!
Back in the classroom we were back to work.
This time we were measuring winter gear.
We measured boots
scarves
even my son's snowsuit!
We even put some snow gear in our store.
Some more super shoppers arrived!
We couldn't have snowy adventures without penguins!
Some penguins popped up to read with us
and some that we had to read and match.
We also had another visitor pop in.
Miss Julia was her name and surprisingly enough she looked a lot like Mrs. Reed (but she talked funny)!
She had the kindergartners help out at a COOKING SHOW. They were busy following a recipe.
Two cups of yellow water mixed with two cups of blue water.
Mix it all together and you get GREEN water!
Miss Julia promised to be back soon!
We were also busy talking a lot about showing God's love and Martin Luther King Jr.
We even wrote our own "Dream Speeches".
The kids did a great job of talking to each other about how they were different
and how they were the same.
Then they shared one thing that made their friend special.
As we talked about how God made us special,
we also talked about how God loves us and knew us before we were even born.
We were able to look at some fetal life baby models.
The kids were amazed at how little they were
and amazed at God's miraculous design.
We practiced our Bible verse before closing with a prayer.
I have called you by name you are mine.
Isaiah 43:1
What an amazing week surrounded in God's love and care.
"We are a box of crayons each one of us unique. But when we get together, the picture is complete."
