We were on a roll this week
as we raced our way through more adventures.
More rocket fun blasted its way into our classroom.
We took our rocket adventures outside as we did a little rocket experiment.
We put mentos into 3 different liquids.
We predicted the Diet Coke would explode the highest.
We were right!
The kids were so amazed!
They wanted to do the experiment again! :)
Letter adventures popped up in our room too!
We had fun trying to toss rings onto the right letter.
We practiced saying the letter sound as we tossed the letter.
Some letter rocks rolled into our room.
The kids were hard at work putting the letters in the right order.
We also put a whole new twist to the game "RED ROVER"
The kids had to huddle up and choose a letter to invite to their team.
RED ROVER, RED ROVER, let the letter O come right over!
The kids did a great job of working together
to play this new game of letter fun!
The kids also had a GREAT time learning to be illustrators this week.
After reading the book Not a Box,
the children enjoyed turning a box into whatever they wanted it to be.
For "rest time" the children were so excited to listen to a record player
(which made me feel slightly old!)
They were very curious how it worked.
We may just have to borrow Mrs. Rouland's record player again soon!
A new classmate joined us Friday... ROGER THE ROBOT.
Mrs. Helmkamp had a little "robot" of her own to show us.
His name is BEE-BOT!
The children were able to program it to make it move.
The children LOVED Bee-Bot and can't wait for it to return!
We decided to make a few robots of our own.
Boxes turned out to be great robots.
The kids even gave the robots wires and eyes. :)
Our week ended with another great Friday Reader!
More smiles...
and more adventures are headed our way next week.
