March Madness

We were cheering for another marvelous week!

Letter M brought a little monster into our classroom.

We had to feed him our popcorn words without getting our fingers nibbled.

But if we had the word "POP" we had to pop up!

Mr. Marolf also joined us and read to us his favorite book about monsters...
Where the Wild Things Are.

We ROARED our terrible roars...

and Mr. Marolf said, "BE STILL!"

We loved having him come to visit!

We played a few more MONSTER games

and designed our WILD THING homes

Making musical words was also a fun adventure.

We also had fun with muffins

as we tossed our pom poms into the muffin tins.

YAY!  We are great readers!
Painting with noodles for the letter N was fun
but very messy!

Sorting the noodles was a little NEATER!

After reading, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

we got to work

building the land of "ChewandSwallow"

It was a YUMMY place to live!
Another wonderful visitor joined us... MY MOM!

She played RAINBOW READERS with the kids...

She was quite the card shark.  :)

And she taught them a song about rainbows.

These kids are quite the singers.

They also are quite the artists as they painted their own rainbows.

It was a rainbow of excitement!

To end our week we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with GREEN DAY!
We even had a little parade.

However, this parade was a parade for JESUS!
We waved our palm branches...
and shouted "HOSANNA! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"

We also had a great time seeing the 2nd graders act out the story of Cinderella.

They retold 4 different versions of the story.

They even created their own scenery and wrote out the parts.

They did an AMAZING job!

The kids worked hard making the color green.

They mixed a little blue and a little yellow to get GREEN!

After reading the book Oobleck

the kindergartners had so much fun playing

with a little oobleck of their own!

It was a little slimy and gooey

but oh so much fun to touch and let drip into the bowl!

They also had fun going on a treasure hunt!

The pot of gold helped us do a little adding.
To end our GREEN DAY we had a little fun with Green Eggs and Ham!
The kids were very brave and tried the green eggs and ham.
Most of the kids LOVED them and
emptied their plates.

Some kids were not so excited.

None the less Green Day definitely was a day to remember!
And our week? Well it was definitely an exciting one!
