Week of the Young Child!

We were ready to kick off our week of fun and celebration!
Monday was not only Cinco De Mayo Day...

It also kicked off the Week of the Young child with Sports Day!
Tuesday we were a colorful group as we wore our favorite colors.
We loved making colorful designs
using shaving cream!

Week of the  Young Child also gave us a chance to talk to some fun grown-ups.
A fun police officer showed up to talk about his job.
We also found out his favorite color is blue!

Wednesday was a special day as we led the school in prayer.

Each child worked with a partner to write part of our P.A.T.H. prayer (praise, apologize, thanksgiving, and help).

Talking to Mr. Masa was another special part of our day.

He showed us the blueprints to our new school and how a "team" works together to build a building.

That inspired us to do a little construction of our own.

We found out just how fun a big box can be...

as we bent, cut, and painted a big box.

We also found out you can build sentences with boxes.

We ended our day with a very interesting visitor who had LOTS of fun friends!

Mrs. P. brought a dog,

and a pretty bird

that liked to dance and "talk"!
She even brought some baby raccoons.

The kids enjoyed getting a chance to practice being vets.

Some animals were quite sick.
Some even needed a shot.
Others just needed some tender loving care.
We nursed our patients back to health!

Next up...

Feeding time for the bird!

Who knew birds liked Doritos?

This bird sure does! She started dancing she was so excited.
It was a great day!

YIPES! STRIPES! Thursday was Stripe Day!

We finished up our week all mixed-up with MisMatch Day!

And who could forget a bunch of fun moms showed up to help us be kids!

It was such a great week to be a kid (and meet a bunch of great grown-ups too)!
