We were ready to face whatever came our way this week...
including GIANTS as we talked about David and Goliath.
David also inspired us to learn a little bit more about musical instruments...
Mrs. Thoelke came and showed us her oboe.
We learned some instruments play a little louder than others!
More visitors came on Tuesday!
They showed us how to play the flute, the trumpet, and the bugle!
The children were amazed and filled with lots of questions!
What a very talented family!
Next up was a saxophone player from 6th grade!
He has only been playing for one year! Wow!
One more musical visitor showed up...
It was Mr. Maddick, one of Zion's 4th grade teachers!
He led the children in singing "Jesus Loves Me".
He then let the children try playing too!
We were so inspired by our musical visitors, that we decided to be conductors and create our own orchestra.
Listening and illustrating Peter and the Wolf was another fun musical adventure.
This then led us to create our very musical instruments.
We will use these instruments at our "Thanksgiving Parade"!
We didn't just play around with instruments this week...
We were also busy learning about money and shopping at our grocery store!
Shopping for food was fun... but giving food to others filled our hearts with joy!
We had so much food to give, we could barely carry it all!
It truly is good to give thanks to the Lord!
Thank you so much for your generosity.
To complete our week, we had GAME DAY!
What time is it? Game TIME!
The children had a great time learning...
and playing each other's games.
What good sports! We were all winners on GAME DAY! :)
Our week would not have been complete without our mystery guest reader... Mr. Debrick! Ask him what his favorite book is! It has to do with a very special little engine. :)
What a great week filled with LOTS of special visitors, and we are so thankful for all of them! :)
STUDENT OF THE WEEK
We had an exclusive interview with our "student of the week".
Here are some fun things we learned about him...
His favorite color is gold
His favorite food is PB and J
He likes to climb.
He wishes he could have a bunny for a pet.
He does not like to go to the doctor nor does he like to get shots.
There are water creatures living under his deck.
He has 3 dogs and 1 sister.
On warm days he likes to get wet and swing.
His favorite Bible verse is: "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid." Heb. 13:6
He is glad that Jesus loves him.
