More fun and friends
popped up this week!
We had a great time building,
creating,
and using our imaginations.
It was also a great week to enjoy God's creation!
Wait a minute!
We weren't just "hanging out" this week!
We had a lot to think about...
These new blocks were a challenge to get the wooden people to balance.
Balancing alphabet blocks was even trickier!
Some kids even organized them by color!
The kids also enjoyed using our alphabet cubes.
Some kids made patterns.
Some made alphabet forts.
Others made tall, tall towers.
We also discovered we could make words with the cubes!
Who knew alphabet cubes could be used in so many fun ways!
Feeding our special crayon box was another new game we played!
The kids had to make the right sound on the crayon in order to feed the box. Yum yum!
We had lots more alphabet adventures this week
Including a matching game.
And some kids challenged themselves to the put the alphabet in the right order!
Some new math tools showed up this week!
The kids loved exploring with attribute blocks
Do you see the robot?
They also found some great ways to use pattern blocks .
This is a cat!
A fun number game had us thinking and smiling too!
Everyone closed their eyes while the "teacher" took a number.
The kids had to guess what number was missing
by putting that many hippos on the tray.
Ta-da! We are great at this game!
Wednesday kept us moving, as we headed to the gym for the first time!
The kids had so much fun running and playing line tag!
However, I think they got more of a workout
cheering for each other! :)
Next up was music class with Mrs. Coad!
The kids had so much fun learning and singing with Mrs. Coad!
Right after music class we headed to our first chapel.
Mr. Debrick led our first chapel. He reminded us we can share God's love by bringing our offering. The offering will go to Bethlehem church to help kids buy winter coats.
Last week our school raised $260! Way to go!
We had three children in our class celebrate their baptismal birthdays!
Back in the classroom we were talking about our body parts.
It is amazing how God put us together!
The kids each picked their favorite body part that God gave them.
From our eyes
to our hearts.
God definitely put us together with love!
The kids had a great time trying to put together their own people!
First they used clay and sticks.
They even added a few buttons.
Then they tried out some of our "connectors".
Everybody's design was so unique!
Then we had the challenge of using "loose parts"
to create some people.
It was a little challenging...
but they turned out great!
One little girl even made her whole family!
We also tried a new kind of dominoes...
Body part dominoes!
We really had to work hard to figure out which body parts were a match.
Thursday we were back for more alphabet fun!
The kids had a blast playing alphabet bingo!
Each child had a turn to pick a card.
They called out their letter...
Then the search began for the letter.
Once they found it,
they covered it up with a linking cube.
Sometimes they even had to double stack the linking cubes!
Oh we couldn't wait to call out BINGO!
We started working with magnetic letters this week too!
Some kids even practiced making words!
We also had fun writing our letters! After rolling the alphabet dice,
we practiced writing or making that letter in the clay.
We took our math lesson outside Thursday!
The kids worked together to find as many circles as possible on the playground.
We discovered our playground has a lot of circles!
We ended the week with some singing and dancing!
These kids sure do know how to dance...
and smile!
We also went on a great A-Z hike on Friday.
Our fun fourth grade friends hid things from A-Z behind the school!
Once we found an item,
we had to look for the letter that it started with on our alphabet chart.
Then we crossed it off our list.
YAY! We found all of the letters!
The kids had a BLAST playing this game! THANKS FOURTH GRADE!
The kids also had a great time working on puzzles.
They discovered working together makes things a lot easier! Great teamwork!
We were also working with animals and sorting.
After sorting the animals, the kids made animal homes.
The kids also enjoyed sorting the animals
and making a graph.
Some kids were a little worried about the snakes! :)
They discovered they had so many animals
they went off the graph!
Graphs were a new challenge for us, but we loved them!
It was definitely a week full of smiles
and laughter!
We can't "weight" to see...
What adventures are headed our way next week!
