We were finishing out February with love and kindness.
We weren't sleeping on the job...
we were working hard playing a little tooth fairy game.
After the kindergartner fell asleep,
the tooth fairy came by to pick up the tooth
and leave some money.
Sometimes the tooth was really hard to find.
Once the tooth fairy left, it was time to count the money!
The banker then wrote down how much money the kindergartner got.
The tooth fun continued as we "brushed" our teeth
by painting with toothbrushes!
EXCITEMENT filled the air as we went to go see our Prayer Pals!
We brought them some very special cards that we made.
We also drew them some beautiful pictures!
Once again it was so fun to see them!
We were also busy delivering some important mail.
We headed outside on a beautiful day
and put our letters in the school's mailbox.
The letters were sent with a hug and smile.
Hopefully the letters arrived to some very special grandparents!
The excitement kept building
as we hopped right into learning about kangaroos!
We practiced hopping by 5's
and practicing our letters sounds.
We have quite the jumpers in this group!
Mrs. Helmkamp led our chapel this week.
She helped us think about the season of Lent coming up Wednesday.
We put away our alleluias until Easter and got our minds and our hearts ready for the season of Lent.
We read a book called Rattletrap Car by Phyllis Root.
The kids had a great time designing their own rattletrap cars.
Then they created their own cars
using snap-os.
OH King May I ... was a very exciting game we played.
After asking the king for permission
the peasants were then able to do an exercise to get to the kingdom.
The kids also worked hard at building their own kingdoms.
The castles they created
were fit for a king!
Friday we were ready to party!
Some fun Dr. Seuss characters were enjoying the popcorn words too!
Finally the time had come to start our READ ACROSS AMERICA Celebration.
We met some fun high schoolers to help us read!
We read Dr. Seuss books.
LOTS of Dr. Seuss books!
After each book we put a piece together in a giant puzzle
of a map of the United States.
It was quite the challenge!
The the kids got to run a lap around the gym.
The high schoolers ran too.
They weren't quite as fast as us!
We kept reading
and reading.
We were getting a little upset about reading so much!
But we kept on reading.
AND reading.
We had such a great time with our new friends.
The map was getting closer and closer
to being complete!
Mr. Bernhardt came
and read to us our final book.
He read to us Oh the Places You Will Go.
Mr. Bernhardt put in the final piece!
It was a great day and
a great way to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Here is a special video we made to remind us how special God made our friends.
We love because God first loved us.
