We finished up September in style this week!
As we talked about the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors,
We designed our very own colorful coats.
This week we also went on a special adventure...
to meet some very special people.
We met them in the church basement where they have a Bible Study every Tuesday.
Once a month we will go to visit with them.
We found out they are very good readers.
and very good listeners too!
We told them a few stories of our own
and brought them some fun pictures.
These special people will be our Prayer Pals this year.
The children kept telling me how nice they are!
We were excited to make some new friends.
We can't wait to see them again next month!
Back in the classroom, we were having some fun adventures with apples.
We were busy investigating
and comparing apples.
Our adventures continued as we did a little taste testing.
Some of the apples were YUMMY!
Others we weren't so sure about.
Some apples the kids didn't like at all!
Each child voted for their favorite apple.
Balancing
and weighing apples also kept us busy.
In addition to that, these little apple investigators
were examining the apples for any bruises and marks.
Mrs. Aslin helped out our apple adventures
by showing the kids how to core an apple.
Each child had a chance to turn the crank!
Our apple fun continued as we examined an apple
and drew a realistic picture of what we saw.
To end our day of adventures we met with some fun 4th graders.
These fourth graders helped us go on an alphabet adventure!
We found letters hiding
all over our campus!
We also shared the applesauce that we made.
Some kids LOVED the applesauce.
Others weren't exactly excited about it.

helped us have a great day!
More learning adventures popped up in our classroom.
After reading 10 Apples Up on Top,
we tried to see how many apples we could balance.
We also made some very interesting apple creations.
Lids from applesauce containers added to our apple creations.
On Friday we took our adventures back outside.
This time we were watching the 8th graders Rocket Launch.
The kids were so AMAZED at how high the rockets went.
They were so impressed by the rocket launch
they designed a few rockets of there own.
We ended our day by cheering on the junior high students at their WALK-A-THON.
We made special posters and gave them high-fives to encourage them.
They gave us some candy and even a few hugs!
Our Friday reader ended our great week with some GREAT stories.
It sure was a great week full of fun adventures!
This month we have been doing a reading unit on stories about kindergarten. We read a story about Miss Bindergarten and how she got ready for kindergarten. Here is our version of the story. ENJOY!
