OH the Things you can Think!

We were racing our way through another great week!

We finished off FIT February (can you see the person on a bike???)

by talking about healthy eating.
Mrs. Fuhr had the kids looking for words on food items.
Then they had to pay for the food!
Chapel was exciting this week as Student Council did a great job of leading it!

They acted out the story of the Prodigal Son.

We also delivered some very important mail this week.

We hope our invitations arrived safely to our grandparents.

The letter K brought a very special king to our room...

Mrs. Fuhr had the kids playing "Oh, King May I".

They had to use some very polite manners
and follow some specific instructions in order to make it to the kingdom.

They also designed some amazing kingdoms!

Gym class took a lot of teamwork this week.

They played a fun game called "Fling It!"

They had to fling a ball in the air and catch it in their nets.

Some baby kangaroos came bouncing into our classroom.

The kids were trying to help them find their mommies.

After they read the word on the mommy's pouch,
they had to hop to the right letter to spell it.
Measuring was also KEY to our fun week.

After measuring with keys,
the kids designed something that the key would unlock.
We were excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday to end our week.

After designing our reading crowns
we were ready to READ!

We headed to Lutheran High

where we found some great high school students to help us

READ ACROSS AMERICA
in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

We read story

after story.

We listened to many

many books!
After each book they read,
they put a puzzle piece

in a giant map of the United States.
We were getting SO close to being done...

However, we ran out of time with our first group of fun readers...

So we headed to the gym

to read with another fun group of freshman.

We couldn't believe it!

They were good readers too!

We listened to a few more books.
This time we ran a lap after each book we read.

Then we sat down to hear a few more stories...

and we read them a few books too!

The puzzle was almost complete...
Mrs. Gnade read us one final book.
Finally we had "read across America"!
It was a great day
with LOTS of fun new friends.

Each kid took one final lap...

and then we headed back to school.
It stacked up to be one terrific week!

“If you never did you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.” -Dr. Seuss
