We stretched our minds this week as we learned about the KING of ING!
We made some amazing castles fit for a king.
After reading the Dr. Seuss book Yertile the Turtle, we tried to stack our own turtle shells.
First we had to roll the dice to see how many shells we had to stack.
Then our stacking strategies began!
It was royally fun!
The letter Y also showed up this week.
We had some messy fun...
painting with yarn.
We finished out our month of learning about Dr. Seuss, with CAT IN THE HAT day!
A bunch of kindergartners in hats showed up!

They had to sort some mixed up sentences.
And go on a hat hunt!
The best part of our day was when the 5th graders showed up!
Dr. Seuss was on the loose, and he left behind some clues for us to figure out!
They had to solve puzzles...
which led them to keys...
that opened another box.
Some clues led them to special people...
Mr. Debrick gave them a tough clue to figure out!
With the help of their 5th grade friends, they got it all worked out.
In the library, they found some rhyming words
which helped them get the correct combination to a lock box.
One fish, two fish, they had to find a BLUE fish!
By the blue fish there was one more riddle to solve.
When they put all of their clues together...
they were able to open the final box.
They found a special prize inside!
The best prize for me was seeing some amazing 5th graders
helping and teaching the kindergartners.
It was a great adventure!
We also had fun celebrating Jesus' TRIUMPHANT ride into Jerusalem!
We had fun creating our own little "Palm Sunday" parade!
We waved our palm branches and our "coats"...
and sang HOSANNA!
We finished our week with BASEBALL DAY!
We were ready to cheer for the Cardinals.
Some wonderful 8th graders came to join us!
They were ready to help us learn how to play some baseball.
Mr. Marolf also came to help us.

We have some real sluggers in the group!
We also practiced throwing and fielding ground balls.
It wasn't always easy...
But we had a great time hanging out...
with the 8th graders.
We love our new friends!
It was another week worth cheering for!
STUDENT OF THE WEEK
He is 6 years old.
His favorite color is green.
His favorite foods are watermelon and pineapple.
If he could go anywhere, it would be to the farm.
He wishes he could have a dog for a pet.
If he could have a superpower, it would be to turn into animals.
He is the oldest of four kids.
He loves science experiments and hunting on the farm.
He loves reading about Jesus.
His favorite Bible verse is: Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. Psalm 107:1
He is glad that Jesus died on the cross for him.
