The cold weather didn't slow us down...
We warmed up by making some very special soup...
Stone Soup!!!!
Here is the recipe the children wrote...
Stone Soup
You need a pot to put water in.
Put 5 cups of water in the pot.
Then you need to go find some stones.
They should be small and kind of rough like pebbles.
Carefully place the stones in the pot.
Next you will need to add some vegetables.
Start with two beets. Then add two potatoes.
Put one carrot in and one onion. Then you put beef in.
We need fire to cook our soup. The soup needs to cook for 15 minutes. Then taste it to check to see if it is good or not. Finally you eat it all up!
"This is the best thing I've ever tasted!"
It was a tasty way to learn how to help others and share! :)
We also had fun with something a little colder... ice!
The children LOVED painting with ice cubes and seeing what happened when they mixed colors.
We also did some experimenting with water.
Our week was not complete without preparing for "Penguin Awareness Day!"
We learned a lot about penguins.
We enjoyed some fish...
And even pretended to be penguins "tobogganing" on our bellies.
Yes, these special creatures taught us a lot! We'll see what fun pops up next week...
