Watch out!  Some CRAZY adventures coming your way...

Mrs. Jennings warmed up our Monday

with an exciting polar bear tag game!
The little fishy had to run fast or the polar bear would get them!

We started off our week celebrating INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY!  Peter H. Reynolds wrote this amazing book that schools all over the world celebrated this week.

After reading the story we got to work doing some "dot" activities.

In math we were working on greater and less than as we took turns rolling our dotted dice.

Then we got a little messy with our dotted fun!

We had fun making "not a dots".

Different painting tools helped us create messy dot masterpieces!

In the afternoon we enjoyed reading LOTS of DOTS and discovered dots can be many things!

The kids also learned how to play dominoes by matching up the dots.

I think the kids' favorite dot activity was SMOOSHING a dot!

They started off by picking three colors to add to their dot.

Then they twisted their two dots together.

They were SO surprised at how their dot turned out!

What a great Dot Day!

Tuesday we were getting ready for Camping Day by learning how to scare bears!
These bears each had lowercase letters on them.
I called out a letter sound
and if they had a bear that matched...
They scared the bear with our bear trap!
The bears were released
when we all said the correct letter sound.

The kids absolutely LOVED this game!

The kids were also busy making tents for the bears.

They tried different ways to keep the bears safe.

It was Miss Pam's birthday!  She is one of our wonderful cooks.  We made cards and sang Happy Birthday to her.

In the afternoon we were busy playing Bear Bingo.

We were also learning about graphs

as we played a roll a S'more game.

Mrs. Lohman was back to finish up our special project.

The kids helped tie the colorful strips of cloth that they had painted last week.

We LOVE the finished decoration that we created together.
Some HAPPY CAMPERS showed up on Wednesday!

Mrs. Crumrine worked hard on helping the campers start on their church music.

They also sang some fun camp songs!

Back in the classroom we were all ready for CAMPING DAY!

Our Camping Day continued with a WONDERFUL chapel led by Mrs. Oswald's class!

They told the story of Noah's Ark from the animals perspective.

Our camping adventures continued with this alphabet  S'MORE game.

They each rolled a letter dice.

If they had that letter, they covered it up with a marshmallow.

If they didn't have it, they had to give their marshmallow to a friend.

The kids also had to work together to put the letter rocks in alphabetical order.

Camp Read A-Lot was open for readers.

Out in the hallway the kids were busy using their flashlights to look for letter tents.

Once they found it,
they traced the letter on their paper.

Then it was time for our SENSE-SATIONAL Camping Day Stations to begin!

The kids headed out to the Nature Playground where they found Mr. Debrick!
We started off using our sense of smell and taste!

The kids used their sense of sight
to go on an I SPY hike with Ms. Steinbacher.

They even went fishing on their hike!

With Mrs. McBroom the kids were busy using their sense of touch to make camping collages.

Our sense of hearing was used for reading in the tents.

They used their flashlight to read too!

It was a GREAT Camping Day!

Our camping fun wasn't quite done...

Thursday morning the kids enjoyed some building and creating time.

This kids have quite the imaginations!

Rhyming S'mores kept our brains busy.

The kids also LOVED fishing for letters!

Once they caught a letter fish, they brought it back to their friends.

Everyone in their group had to write down the letter their friend caught.

The kids had a BLAST making giant tents and campsites.

They also practiced their memory verse by creating memory verse art.

They stamped stars as they practiced saying "I will bless you.  Genesis 12:2".

Friday Mrs. Jennings had the kids moving and a shaking in gym class.

When the music stopped, the kids had to go to the color of hula hoop she called out.

They also had to put the body part she called in the hula hoop!

The kids can't wait to play this game again!

Back in the classroom we were having a little Friday dance party of our own!

In math we had a YUMMY lesson on greater and less than.

The kids had to sort their trail mix.

Then they had to see which group they had the most of.

Then it was time to eat it!

They took the rest home along with with a "Camping Trail Mix" story book.  ENJOY!

We were also busy playing a game called Number Race.
Two kids raced to the numbers.

They each flipped the card over

and had to figure out which number was greater or less than.

The kids LOVED reading the Stick and Stone series to end our week.

We also had fun balancing our letter rocks.

Each kid picked a letter rock.

The letter that was the heaviest
we had to cheer for by saying that letter sound.

We used sticks and stones to create these beautiful letters.

Then the kids ventured out back and picked out a stone.

They decorated the stone however they wanted to.

They took their stone home along with a stick

to remind them that friends STICK together because friendship ROCKS.

In the afternoon the kids were playing another fun dice game.

After rolling the dice, the kids had to use that many stick to create something.

They also learned a new game called BLINK.

The kids did a GREAT job learning this new game!

We ended the day with our first Friday Reader!

Amelia's mom surprised her with this awesome Pete the Cat story!

The kids were smiling and giggling the whole time.

We loved having a special Friday reader. It was a great way to end the week!

Watch for more adventures headed your way next week!
