APPLE ADVENTURES!

It was a great week!

We had a lot of celebrating to do!

We marched right into the week with learning "The Kindergartners Go Marching Around the Room..."

We had more fun with pattern blocks this week.

Some kids sorted them.

Others stacked them as high as they could!

Others built walls

or other creations.

Our new "reading tool" are our toolbox shapes.

The kids created some amazing pictures.

Some made animals.

Others made rockets ships.

Some even figured out how to make their own names!

This was also another SENSEsational week!

This time we were using our sense of smell.
Some kids weren't so sure this was  a good idea!

They had to close their eyes
and tried to guess what they were smelling.
They also had to say whether they liked the smell

or not.

They smelled cocoa

cinnamon
coffee
red pepper

and vanilla.

Some of the smells the kids really didn't care for.
The red pepper was one that most kids didn't like.
The cinnamon smell the kids really liked!
A lot of kids even like the coffee smell.

I was surprised at how many kids didn't like the smell of vanilla!
It even made some kids burst out laughing!

They also had fun guessing

what they thought the smell was.
Some kids have quite the sniffers!

It was a GREAT smelly station.
We also had fun using our sense of TASTE!

PTL bought the whole school a cool treat!

The kids LOVED it!

Thank you PTL for making our day so SWEET!  :)

We also signed up for more adventures outside.

These kids worked so hard!

But they NEVER stopped  smiling!

They did  a great job of working together.

They built a "fire pit"!

They pretended to cook on the fire.  :)

They were also busy selling things at the store and restaurant.

I just LOVE to see their imaginations at work!

We are so thankful for the beautiful weather that God continues to provide us!
We also had quite a few APPLE ADVENTURES this week!
The kids each helped core the apples.

They had to really used their muscles to get it to turn.

When the apple was all cored the kids were surprised at what happened!

"It's like a slinky!"
The kids also had fun tasting the skin.

They were surprised at how yummy it was!

The kids also enjoyed painting with the apples.

The discovered that apples make great stamps!

Who knew apples could make such amazing masterpieces.
Tasting testing apples
brought smiles to our faces!
The kids had a great time trying different types of apples.

They tried Granny Smith
Golden Delicious
Gala
and Pink Ladies.
We even tried a mystery apple!
The kids were so brave and tried every single apple.
Some apples they didn't care for very much

but they still had a great time!
After they tried all the apples, they voted for their favorite.
The mystery apple was their favorite!
Making apple trees

tested the kids patience and balance.

It was interesting to see the different designs they came up with.

Our investigation station put their brains to work.
The kids looked carefully at the homegrown apples.

Some kids even thought they found worms!

They also worked hard to find apples that weighed the same.

It was quite the balancing act!

They even enjoyed measuring with the skins!

They are quite the investigators!
After reading the book Chicka Chicka 123

The kids went outside to look for apple numbers.

Once they found the number,

they wrote it down on their dry erase boards.

They had  great time on their "story walk".

Finally it was time to test out the apple sauce the kids helped make.

Some kids didn't like it at all.

Others gobbled it ALL up!

We look forward to more fun adventures next week!
