May was a very busy month for us as we finished out one GREAT year together!
We talked a lot about talents and the different ways people use those talents to do their jobs. SOOO... we decided to invite some special people into our classroom to talk about their talents and jobs.
A Lutheran High graduate took time from his summer break to show us his yo-yo skills!

He has actually competed at world competitions!!! The kids were amazed!
Mrs. Thoelke stopped by and shared with us her special talent of singing and even gave us a few pointers.
Later in the week we stopped by to see Mr. Thoelke, and he gave us our own little concert. He even played a few songs we knew (some were a little loud). The kids loved it!!!

One of my good friends is a photographer, so she stopped by to talk about her job. She even gave a us a chance to have our own photo shoot!
Is there a doctor in the house? YES! Many of the children wanted to learn more about being a doctor, so I invited Dr. Hingst to visit with us. He is a member of Zion and has children who also went to school here. The kids had some very interesting questions for him. Top of the list: "How much money do you make?" :)

The kids were also interested in learning about construction work, so I invited one of my friends to stop by and talk about his job. He actually helped to build our church.
Learning how to be a veterinarian was one of the top on our list, so Mrs. Speciale did an encore presentation and taught us how to do a few "tricks".

Pastor Rouland is always fun to visit with! He taught us a few things about his job.

He also took us back to the "pastor rooms" where they get ready before church starts and showed us the different colors of the church year.

We invited Mrs. Fore (who is the half-day kindergarten aide) to come by and talk to us about her special talent. She is a "treasure hunter" collecting and selling antiques. You may have seen her at the Antique Mall. The children loved the different collections she brought in.

Another special member of Zion owns Paul's Donuts and Ice Cream! Mrs. Julie Feld stopped by and even brought us some delicious treats!!!

One kindergartner said it was the "goodest" treat they had ever had!
We couldn't have everyone come to our classroom, so we did some "interviews" via email and Skyping, including Jan Brett, Jim Gill, and John Knicely (from News Channel 4). My brother Ben even talked to us about coaching on a "conference call" using Skype.
We were actually able to skype a professional soccer play who just happens to be Mrs. Clark's nephew!

After learning about a few fun jobs, we decided to try some out at the Magic House. It was a magical day indeed!

I even tried out a new job as a cook/host on a "cooking show"! Look who my first guest was! I think I'll stick to teaching. :)
After reading the book, You Are Special by Max Lucado, we talked about how God made all of us very special AND He doesn't make mistakes. The children then shared a few of their talents.
Kyle showed us a few of his dance moves!
We have a few gymnasts in the group!
And a few pianists too!
Susie played Puff the Magic Dragon for us all without music!
Sam showed us his basketball skills...

Brooke showed us her hula-hooping skills! Over 72 times it went around!!!
I am unique!!!
The first grade invited us into their classroom and shared with us some important things to know for next year.

It was time for us to pack up...

and starting moving on to first grade!

Now it's time for us to say good-bye for just awhile. So until we meet again, may God's love make you smile. We'll be friends forever. Jesus and you and me. He ties our hearts together, and friends we'll always be!

Thank you for a great year!! Jesus loves you and so do I!!!
